ANNOUNCEMENT Server downtime - bonus credit weekend

This is a great gesture. I won't benefit from it at all but it is still a great gesture, considering that we pay nothing for the servers and they struggle during the early weekend hours to get it up again for us, that's truly something.

Ah coool :)

People, it's impossible to satisfy everyone !!
Already, they are made a nice gesture, and proves that they are attentive to their community!
And that is the best reward me;)
If you find the time to come and cry on the forum, I'm sure you will find 5 minutes to enjoy this increase !! ^^
In short, on this,
Thank you, a nice nod!
PS: I have known of Mme ... And problems like last night, it is unfortunately inevitable ... A time or another!
For cons, I repeat myself, but a gesture like this is already much rarer..; Believe me !!! ^^
With that, the zamis good game.
Thanks again.

(reverso translate... Sorry lol)

Maybe they just got the servers back up on a weekend as there is no offline mode and thus we can't play,if we can't play and get frustrated and don't buy horizons as a result they lose money.Im not saying it is but I'm just saying maybe its not all just for sweet ol us but to protect their bottom line?:)

The best present explorers could get would be an exploration based CG to start in about 6-7 weeks time when the survivors of the distant worlds expedition are starting to head back.

Not being able to complete missions is just the same as not being able to hunt for bounties or scan systems and planets. It's all the same, doing missions isn't more valuable or important then everything else other people do. Just because you do that doesn't mean downtime is more unfair to you.

You're failing to think that thru it seems.

20% Bonus but bounties are paying out at about 50% of what they were.

I was getting 200k+ bounties on Anacondas in HAZRES but now they are less than 100k

This means i'm making less with the bonus than I was before all this.

Greetings Commanders.

As many of you will know, last night we suffered unexpected server downtime which lasted for a considerable number of hours.

By way of a thank you for your patience and to cover any unexpected small fines due to the time delay, we will be running a 48 hour bonus credit period for all Commanders in the galaxy.

All mission reward credits, bounties and combat bonds will receive a 20% uplift when cashing them in.

Missions will show as the same reward but should add 20% as a bonus when cashing in. Bounties will also say the same amount has been claimed but will then increase in your transactions. As will combat bonds.

The bonus period will be available from 14:00 GMT (30 minutes time) today until 14:00 GMT Monday 1st Feb.

This will be applied to all platforms (PC, Mac & Xbox One)

Once again thank you so much for your patience while the servers were fixed. We truly appreciate your fantastic ongoing support.

Fly safe Commanders!

Traders and explorers get f all then?

I had traveled from the far-side of the bubble to Robigo Mines, waited 40 minutes to get 5 smuggling missions and I was in the LAST frame-shift animation to the destination system when the game crashed yesterday. No guarantee I wouldn't have outrun a scan while trying to port but I've never failed boosting away on all previous Illicit cargo runs so I like to think it unlikely I would have failed. Woke up today, get in and see all missions have timed-out (as expected) but see a notice I can do missions and get a 20% bonus this weekend. Wow.. I can do that run 5 times, taking 5 missions each time, and be close to breaking even. Ugh, not how I want to spend my weekend playing.

Players exploring didn't loose exploration data, players trading didn't loose trade goods, players fighting didn't loose bounties, but players doing missions failed their missions. I know there's nothing FD can do that will satisfy everyone but I think extending mission timers would have been a start. Then all losses would've been the same, not being able to play for a few hours.
Some players exploring missed a big meet up in Waypoint 5. That was worth a hell of a lot more to me than your 5 smuggling missions.

As said, these things happen. No one chooses it. I'm not going to get that chance for a meetup back. I'm not going to break even. But I'm also not going to nag Frontier about how the gesture of good will, which they don't have to implement, has no influence on me. Since it has a positive influence on you, I suggest show at least a bit of appreciation, even if you're not happy with the result of the down time. :)

Now I wouldn't have reacted at all, if not for the "players doing missions deserve special consideration" mentality.

Cheerio!

Server crashes happen, they are a fact of online life. Anything offered by the game developers by way of an apology is a nice gesture, they don't actually have to do anything at all.

Great example of the two faces of the game for me last night and today. Last night I'd crashed out in SC on the way to a station when the servers went down and I was irritated because I couldn't play. Logged back in today and this was my view when the game loaded:

Not bad E: D, not bad at all.

Looks like I missed all the fun.

I was off playing BF4 and fell asleep at 4am. Luckily my kid woke me up at 8am.

The game servers shut down for a bit. It was pretty late, about 2am anyway. So when I say I went to bed "early", I actually mean "before it starts getting bright.

Most mmo give peeps a extra % xp weekend or something like that.

I guess extra creds is the equivalent but why does it have to be tagged to mission s etc. Can they not just give 20% more creds on anything you do that generates a profit?

Haha I just thought of something...just give us a one shot chance at that 100mill button that was being talked about in that other thread.

No bonus for me either. Just cashed in 650k bounties, didn't get a single bonus credit.

*cough* Editing for clarification

Allow me to repeat what is described in the OP:

- Credits and faction reputation rewards from missions that end during this event will be 20% higher than advertised.
- Bounty Vouchers and Combat Bonds created during this event will be 20% higher than advertised.

So when you kill a target, the value which displays in the top-right corner of your screen will be the original kill value. However the value listed in your transactions tabs should be 20% higher. Therefore cashing in will match the value listed in your Transactions tab as the bonus has already been applied.

We've just tested this internally and the bonus is applying. if this isn't the case for you, please share some screenshots of the bounty gain & subsequent transaction value shown!

Wow thank you very much for this gesture +1

The values in the cash-in screen will remain the same, but the amount actually added to your credit balance should be 20% more than shown. You can verify this by looking at your balance before and after. :)

I checked my balance before and after. I did not get the 20% extra.

Oh man,
I wasn't on the server as i was enjoying real life (Only knew it happened from a tweet from frontier). When i am on, I'm out exploring, and not running the robigo free cash giveaway. Can i get this at a later date? You know maybe in 2 or three months when i get back in to a station again.(nah never mind it really doesn't matter in a game where i already have over 600 hours of game play)
I know you really didn't have to do anything as server cashes are a fact of life and happen in all industries. I also get the loss of a game mission might be seen as a great hardship in someones life. That extra 20 million makes all the difference after all.
Good job squashing the inevitable 2 or 3 days of complaints.

The galaxy looks great outside the bubble.

I did check it by comparing before and after balance. No 20% extra. Just the 650k I turned in.

Same here. Tested it numerous times and still no +20%.

Bear in mind that I already have +50% from Hudson's pledge level 2. So, on a 100K bounty, I'm expecting to see 170K more in my balance. As it stands, only 150K gets added.

I don't want to sound greedy, but if you advertise it for a specific thing, it should work.
