Well, the Free Trader Beowolf is no more. :(


Had been a few systems over prospecting for jumponium mats and lifted off to break for lunch. Went vertical, went to full thrust... and wondered why the ground was getting closer. Panicked, hit boost...


And realized too late my throttle was still reversed from the last screenie I took. My hull was already at 65% from a bad landing at the WP a few days ago. First hit knocked out the shields and took me down to about 35%. Bounced, hit again and saw the rebuy screen. :(


Now in the bubble re-outfitting. Will leave and see if I can buckyball it out to the WP in time for the departure tomorrow with the Beowolf II.


Fly safe commanders, and watch that throttle setting. :)

Really enjoyed way point 5 last night, was a right laugh. Sorry to see Krollin' ship go down hard. He was gutted to hit someone else's ship, I was on TS whilst it all happened and heard his genuine heart felt apology to the other player.

You're not alone in doing that. I survived my go, and since then I changed my throttle reverse mode from toggle to push-and-hold. Thus I shouldn't be able to be in the wrong mode any more.

I am more than happy to take part simply because it would be the perfect opportunity to emphasise how important it is to not put other cmdrs at risk. Rest assured I will not be pulling cunning stunts any more.

Does anyone know when the time and system name for event Leaving Home Behind was provided in the first post of this thread? I kept reloading that page up until yesterday afternoon (GMT + 5) and it still said time and system TBA at that point. Was that the case for everyone else? I am very bummed that I missed it, as it seems to have happened already? :-(

What already happened is people arriving at WP5 (which was planned for friday), but the expedition is staying there for the weekend. The departure is tomorrow at 18 UTC.
For all those meetup and departure informations, watch the first post in the DW Announcement thread.
This weekend see's the 2nd Key Event : The end of Stage 1 (The Departure), and the launch of Stage 2 (Leaving Home Behind).


  • After exploring NGC 6357, the fleet is encouraged to regroup at the Drake's Ridge Base Camp on Sunday 31st @ 18:00 Gametime (for both Euro and USA based players).

For RL reasons I wasn't able to take off with the rest of you.

How far away is Distant worlds and could I conceivably catch up?

Great video Iso! really enjoyed both the vid and the meeting at wp 5 yesterday!:) From viewing you angel of my tripple backflip Im now thinking lag might have been involved in my demise! If you watch my highlight you can see I do 3 full flips and land on my back wheels then slam down my front wheels for a "good" landing. But in your vid it looks like I do 2.3 flips then turn back and land on all 4 and explode^^ Not gonna dwell on that though!:) Anyways liked the vid thx for making it:)

About 9000Ly away in NGC 6375 nebula until tomorrow. Catching up is up to how much game time you have to spare daily.

That's not so bad. I've got a relatively light scheduel.

So be assured that the Earthbound Misfit is plunging through witchspace with supplies and fuel limpets in its hull.

I'd *genuinely* parked up at Founders World to equip my Anaconda for exploring, with the firm intention of catching up with you guys. I took a break to get some lunch and when I came back: THAT post at the top had turned up.

Who can refuse an extra 20% on transactions? I just made near 10MCr in one intense bounty hunting session (got to love these Hi risk Res sites!) So... It'll be a couple more days before the Grey Ghost sets sail, but I will be there soon (promise!)

P.S. To Erimus, thank you again for those sublime original videos documenting your journeys. Those inspired me to get Elite Dangerous: Horizons in recent weeks and to join this expedition.
