Mr.Brookes has successful avoided to answer the questions. Most book it under "Frontier helloween hoax". But who knows?

The in-game Galnet is usually even worse. Over twelve hours after the last batch of (3) CGs appeared on the Galnet site, only one of them was on the in-game Galnet.

How hard can this be? Just one more small, yet frustrating thing.

Here's the text of said article, in case anyone else is having trouble finding it:

Speculation is rife at Obsidian Orbital this morning following a close-quarters encounter with an unidentified Diamondback Explorer. According to Chloe Anders, a member of the surveillance team at Christian Dock, the mysterious vessel came within 10 kilometres of the station while performing what was described as a "high-speed pass":

"I saw it approach and assumed it was about to submit a docking request, but instead it just started circling the station. It had an unusual designation – "S6: 7" – so I tried hailing it, but there was no response. Then our sensors lit up. I couldn't believe it – the damned thing was scanning the station! I told the weapons team to stand by, but the next thing I knew, it was gone."

Asked for her opinion of the vessel's purpose, Anders said: "I know it sounds crazy, but when I saw it circling the station like that, the only thing I could think was that it was looking for something."​

Some thoughts:

- Seems like "Christian Dock" should have said "Obsidian Orbital" instead, which suggests that the article was either a copypasta of a previously written local news story from this "Christian Dock", or that it's randomly generated text akin to mission text, and one of the $station_name fields broke. If either of those is the case, the article probably isn't relevant to any larger plot lines (but I think there's a good chance it's relevant.)

- 10km is not all that close to the station, considering safely disengaging SC usually drops me no more than 9km away from a station, and that still tends to be several km outside most no-speeding zones. (Moot in the case of OO.)

- What does the term "designation" refer to in game terms? Would that be some part of the info displayed in the HUD or left-side panel? Or is it just a throwaway sci-fi word?

And around an hour ago, I had just got done transferring fuel to a Diamondback Explorer NPC named S8: 9 at a distress call. It went faster than what any other vessel could possibly go when it flew off.

Holy cross of Jesus.

Another strangely named NPC spotted (though no clue what system) and then some top level tin foil hattery going on here.

Its an Unidentified Artifact. They scanned our ships and now they are replicating them.

No indeed. Though being slightly skeptical I will reserve judgement until another sighting is confirmed.

*Edit* though I must say that why Christian Dock (the only one I can find is in Nganji) is monitoring Obsidian Orbital, is a bit strange.

Christian Dock was Palins base before he moved to obsidian orbitial right? I wonder how long these were written? maybe we changed the story a bit when the community pushed to have obsidian built

Ooooh, you're right. So it could have been a copypasta error AND relevant to the story... Though I bet it's more likely to be some human group interested in assassinating Palin, maybe related to his schism with the Feds.

She is a member of the surveillance team which was 'previously' on Christian Dock. It's just that Palin is still working with the same team.

UA's can self repair and they obviously uses the same mechanism as the Meta-alloys use to grow (same sparkles and coloured gas emission).

If you can self repair and grow only with access to metals ,you may also be able to replicate shapes. These mysterious ships may acctually be the aliens, not alien ships.

If this turns out to be the case it prolly wasn't a great idea to take the UA to the cap ships ^^^
