OK leaving the bubble now. Got 12.3 Kylies to do before the next meet up. Hope I make it in time.

This season I'll mostly be wearing banana yellow.

You start charging the frameshift drive while the fuel scoop is still engaged? I just saw the heat go up massively and assumed that I would start taking damage. At least that has happened to me in the past and I haven't tried it since. I suppose I could give it a try now that I am back at the bubble. I also plan to test my heat sinks again just to find out exactly how responsive they are to key presses.

It's been useful to find out though that you can still fuel scoop at max rate even when the throttle is at zero once you are up to maximum rate. I might find a use for that if I need to fill an empty tank or the orbit line isn't showing.

It depends on the star and your speed. The faster you go, the faster you can escape the star, ie stop the heat rising. M stars are easy, class A and up better wait a bit. You can always abort the fsd right before it hits 100% heat, there is no penalty and the heat will immediately stop rising. Then the trick is to always steer along the correct side of the star so that the destination is never obscured and you can reach it before the fsd is fully charged (Anaconda turns so slow!) It's a fun mini game to keep going. But I did have 2 emergency stops since departure. I haven't had orbit lines on since I found out you can turn them off a few weeks after launch. Once I got a little too close, the other time my brain had a short and instead of pushing away, I pulled right into the star at full speed :/

Oh for crying out loud. Barely 2k out and I hit a missing danger line red dwarf. Bang goes 2% of the hull.

I'm 9 Kylies from Sol and already on 74% after 2 hard landings.
Unlike a number of other folks, I'm not going to turn back around. I'm carrying on. :)

A flyby is nothing special, nor is a ringed fly through, and not even a ringed hmc fly through, but something about the hmc attracted my eyes to it. So I decided to do it. And I'm glad I did for after flying through the rings, there was a very nice surprise in stall for me. I call this little piece: "Ziggy Stardust, eat your heart out." :)

Funnily enough I'm heading for the Prieluia Furnace... a ringed gas giant with a similar effect.

Just out of curiosity, how many times have you visited the bubble since this expedition started?
Im only asking cause i pretty sure ive seen you write here "leaving the bubble" or something similar at least 4-5 times.. :D

reading about pirate attack @drake ridge... Volunteering to get rid of them, anyone? It seems like my plasma stowed for 10k LY are becoming useful :D I was hoping for thargoids but I can be happy with some pirates too

Link?

Problem with the Instancing system is that you've probably got more chance of finding a Thargoid than a Pirate!

You can also start charging the moment the temp starts to drop, or listen to engine note and as soon as it goes to a lower tone, you can hit the jump button. The time it takes to warm up the ship you are always out of the corona

im not so far away from WP 5 and armed enough to not be afraid of such visits. Nevertheless just almost had an incident with a Binary, luckily with no damage binary.jpg

I have a plan for griefers, but it's on a need to know basis. Now I know we have at least one in open I can act accordingly. Looks like my heavily armed anaconda will come in useful after all

I had a bit of a crash right at the beginning and had to go back to Pratchett's disc in order to get repaired before we all flew off.

I was at way point 5 and decided I wanted a pink asp instead of a black synth one. My hull was only 98% so I went back via way points 4 & 3 because I skipped them on the way out. My hull was 94% when I got back.

I then went straight to way point 5 again and from there made a little detour to the Clookuia nebula and was on my way to way point 6 when I stopped off at a really dark planet to get a picture. My hull was 100% when I landed. 33% after taking off and then crash landing. I was suffering a really bad cold that I had been trying to shift for a week and a momentary lapse of concentration with the debug camera and reverse meant that I had to go straight back to the bubble.

I'm now flying a yellow asp.

I don't want to return again. I'm running out of suitable colours.
