Distant Worlds - A journey beyond the Abyss

Hate those buggers.

I turn the Conda 180 before applying throttle whenever I drop into a system with those pesky critters.

The same with neutron stars, zero throttle until the target is at least 90 degrees away.
A neutron star still got me. I warped in and thought, that's odd, why am I pointed further away from the star than normal. I speed up to fuel scoop and immediately get an emergency stop from the neutron star right in front of me.

I had the same when returning from Beagle Point, but I fortunately made the connection and checked the navigation pane before moving.

I lost 2% to a neutron. Went in ok. But lost lock on it and accelerated into it. Going to select the next one and watch it go behind me before throttling up.

Because I'm proud of this one. And because I made it 2ly higher than the highest tagged system. Without jumponium. My love to our Milky Way.

Not sure where you got your "highest tagged system" from, but I think this system is even higher.
QUEMEOU YE-A E7 at position 20,2791,25974

Didn't even get first discovery honour when I visited there on 30 May 3301 , but it is my personal height record.
I have lots of J3 this time so hoping to go even higher in a few days time.

Ticket submitted, but I've got nothing about what set it off. I didn't even hit anything. I was tootling along up a slight hill with 80-something% hull then BAM! No more SRV.

I had a bit of a crash right at the beginning and had to go back to Pratchett's disc in order to get repaired before we all flew off.

I was at way point 5 and decided I wanted a pink asp instead of a black synth one. My hull was only 98% so I went back via way points 4 & 3 because I skipped them on the way out. My hull was 94% when I got back.

I then went straight to way point 5 again and from there made a little detour to the Clookuia nebula and was on my way to way point 6 when I stopped off at a really dark planet to get a picture. My hull was 100% when I landed. 33% after taking off and then crash landing. I was suffering a really bad cold that I had been trying to shift for a week and a momentary lapse of concentration with the debug camera and reverse meant that I had to go straight back to the bubble.

I'm now flying a yellow asp.

I don't want to return again. I'm running out of suitable colours.

oooh so thats why i found your tracks on the way there (Clookuia) , thanks for leaving me a WaterWorld along the way tho just had to travel 245.000LS for it but thats what coffee/drinking breaks are for.
its the system i log of for tonight anyways

Dang, wp16? I'm only at wp6, need to rethink this...

I lost a buggy to this bug back before the DWE left. The best defense against the exploding SRV bug is to keep the buggy's hull at 97% or above at all times. The bug takes off anywhere from 85-95% instantly, so as long as you can take that hit and survive you will not lose the SRV.

As you cross the norma expanse you'll be passing me in there somewhere. I had a head start, and am making a bee line to sag A, but I just don't have the time to invest. Safe journey's folks!
