No it's not - having a read around, and I'm sure there'll be someone else coming on here with a better response - the large ships use an older FSD capable of shifting that mass (ours can't) which tear a hole in witchspace and allow the Ship to jump into a specific place in a system.

It's older, different tech to our FSDs, and one which they're trying to upgrade (think: SS1)

This is at least how the forum rumours explain it. I haven't seen anything official.

Excellent points gents, also the npc chatter in the video is a bit, well... sort of explains itself really.

Ehum slightly off topic I know guys but has anybody seen this?

I think I may need to change into brown pants and put the brown alert bulb back in the alert slot that the scutters removed.

This was spotted yesterday.

Chancellor Blain has stated his intentions to take back Facece. There will probably several CGs for and against this campaign.

If you look closely at the video, you will see the instance is called 'Capital Ship - Allied Facece order. Allied Facece order is the independent controlling faction, the system authority vessels should belong to them. The interdictor that jumps in on the other hand is Imperial.
My guess is that whatever was in that debris field was destroyed by the Empire.

Mystery Solved. No Aliens. No Thargs. No Weird Death Star/Star Killer beams... Just good old fashioned murder.

Detective Del Spooner: What if I'm right?
Lt. John Bergin: [sighs] Well, then I guess we're gonna miss the good old days.
Detective Del Spooner: What good old days?
Lt. John Bergin: When people were killed by *other people*.

It was the Nomads. Trust me, I have a pink alien inside me.

Nah, i would expect nomads to get a peak in StarCitizen as an easter egg, not in EliteDangerous.
Chris Roberts was the producer of Freelancer, not our Lord and Savior David Braben.

Thanks anyway, you triggered some good memories from that good old game ;)

But are they debris clouds, or have they just moved?
Debris=new trousers/pants
Moved=redeployment

Imperial cap ships have probably moved to prepare for the attack on Facece.

The Feds may also be mobilizing. There are som observations that lead me to think that they are planning to attack Eranin again. If the cap. ships start to show up in Dahan, it's on.

Debris=new trousers/pants
Moved=redeployment

that's the question we at the xyz are trying to solve as one of our guys was going to one in achenar he got around 100LS from the signal where it was then poof it was gone, no debris signal like at faceces or anything just gone so it's either they're are moving out to where ever for what ever reason or they've been err ship napped?

Been to Achenar, no cap ships there, I can't get to Facece as I dont have the permit, following up on Dahan now.

No cap ships in Dahan

Capital Ships are gone...

I was planning a big journey around the Galaxy for this spring (after installing some 2.1 upgrades), but looks like I should start it now - "Run, you fools!" [/silliness]

I have two questions:
1)Why?
2)Where?

But if we can easily answer the first question (aliens / war), the second will require a lot of searching... Or we can just wait for news from GalNet (if it's war).

Also, why would huge and powerful Empire / Federation ask independent pilots to help them with some small fleet of terrorists, which they can easily wipe out with their Capital Ships...

Unless they are using them (Cap.Ships) somewhere else for a long time already (Secret War with aliens?).

Corrigendum has posted an article reporting claims from a CMDR to have seen a mystery Diamondback at Zenbei Orbital, in Vaka: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=101801&p=3528743&viewfull=1#post3528743

If the report is to be believed, the ship had no signature to lock on to - making spotting it tricky. Local contacts list might be the easiest way to see it.

Could a few people get there to try and tease one out?

well I spent a good hour floating around Zenbei Orbital, nothing to be seen. I also spent around 30-40mins scouting out the civilian outpost in system and another hour dropping into various USS, SSS, Distress Calls and salvageable wreckage to see if anything interesting popped up. Then, for kicks and lack of anything better to do, I did a quick scout of the route between Vaka and Facece.

the most interesting things found were a few imperial naval fleets around Vaka, mostly containing around 6 vultures, 2 condas and a type 9. One had a fed dropship,but that's the most unusual thing I have to report.
