I dont like the end this is going on... it seems that this game is elite: lets exploit, not elite: dangerous.
Since most people are happy with this kind of changes...
Well, this is my impression. And i love elite, but ill change my attitude. Any bug, error, exploit or whatever name you want, ill be there to be "lucky" and get these... errors.
Ill try not to bother for these things any more and try to get them. As you say, elite is just a game and we have to enjoy it. No more worries.

The 30% discount on ships is off. I cant believe many players are able to buy many ships for 30% discount and after i arrive home i just see the crappy sh*t outfitting list... FD made it possible to buy ships for discounts then AT LEAST let CG players to buy discounted ships for 1 damn day! Im gonna ask what will happen to anyone who is able to buy a ship with 30% discount??? Im damn sure FD will not remove it from players who used this thing.

Just like the Empire Dawn CG, done 3 million claim, i got 1-2 millon cr as reward and not a damn 1% to my empire rank.
The stealth fix for the discount just a big letdown, you make it happen, its your fault!
You should have let it stay in 1 day, then fix it...

It does seem a bit backwards that some players benefit and others do not. Especially so since many people commenting were talking about their second cutter or whatever. The people buying smaller ships probably missed out due to not being able to get there in time. Mistake or not, it'd have been better to apply consistency and either leave it in place, or undo changes made.
I wouldn't be so sure... FD will make big temporary changes, for example there was the 28% discount on imperial clippers a few months ago that was a global reward for a Torval CG (that one lasted a few weeks), I remember there was also a big (>15%) discount on Faulcon de Lacy ships in the Lave cluster where a lot of anacondas were bought, and there was also the temporary lifting of imperial rank restrictions for buying ships for a few days around the imperial coronation.
I thought at least I'll be able to discount some of my Anacondas modules, but it's a 30% discount on garbage nobody wants. <./sigh>
If FD would fix some of the broken fundamental game mechanics and systems I believe this would change. Until then, smashing your head into a cement wall is only fun for so long. Eventually, people are going to try any other method to get around that cement wall.

What makes one set of inputs seemingly more meritorious over another set of inputs to achieve similar responses from said system, I will never understand.

But they are entitled to help those CMDRs who have bragged about getting a cheap Cutter enjoy their cheaper insurance rebuy.
A temporary 30% discount was the result of many online players coming together in I assume was a Community Goal to accomplish this. Others who didn't participate (like me) could still obtain the rewards with a new Cutter knowing about it. My thanks to those who made this possible and in response I am now a devoted fan of CGs to help others succeed with them. This is a positive game incentive and adds depth to the game experience.
Others may call it an exploit especially if the primary focus is on PvP and keeping the balance "fair" as they see it. That's a never ending discussion on the Forum. Given the great time I had seeing all the live players at the discount station I'll always go with more of them. Thus maybe more players will actually go with Open Play seeing how it isn't so bad after all. That works out for PvP as well.

Ok, you are right, the Outfitting List in Onnes is quite a bit of cr***ap.
But what do you expect from it, its located in provincial corener of the universe. Sol is a lot more shiny but 80Ly away.
Its not near any major trading route. So its a midsized world in the middle of nowhere and its not the major
Station in system. The Outfitting list reflects that perfectly.

This is perfectly true but doesn't that mean that whoever thought up the terms of the CG didn't put enough effort into it? A reward that is meaningless to the majority of contributors doesn't exactly encourage people to take part in future goals.
