We do not know that, but I think that we can guesstimate the numbers that represent the amount they spent. Or do you suggest that their expenses exceed the funding they raise?

I'm not suggesting anything in particular.

But I have seen both operating cost estimates that suggest CIG could not be as healthy as you think, and estimates that suggest everything is fine. And all seem perfectly plausible. The uncertainty ranges are still huge hence why you can't know or keep stating that all is well just based solely on the RSI counter while ignoring all other dimensions we ve mentioned before.

Not sure I'm qualified to comment on budgets and whatnot but that $15 price doesn't seem right, has that come from CIG?

I mean sure you could turn round and say well at that price it's not gonna be standalone therefore it makes sense. But how can DLC content with the likes of Gary Oldman and other big name actors in it be $15?

I suppose their involvement for the next parts may have already been paid for but still, $15? Surely you'd charge more for it.

I can't help feeling they're lowballing the figure for some reason, I mean why even announce the price now anyway?

Hmm, if you could preorder at that price right now maybe it would be a way to bring in cash now, but I can't see it up for sale. I suppose if it appears in a few days then yes, maybe that pricing is a way to bring in cash sooner rather than later.

You got is slightly wrong. Either SQ42 or SC are going to cost $45, however, if someone wants to get both, then it is going to cost additional $15 on top of $45, i.e. $45+$15=$60 in total:

They announce prices as the split is going to happen 14/02, i.e. on Sunday or Monday. So this is the way how they can promote sales aka the last days when you can get it all for much less.

Ahhh sorry, by "second part" I though you mean't Behind Enemy Lines.

I would expect Behind the Enemy Lines to be priced at the same level as SQ42 or slightly less to those who already own SQ42. It also depends whether it is going to be possible to play Behind the Enemy Lines as stand alone game or SQ42 walkthrough is going to be mandatory to play Behind the Enemy Lines.

The daily limit is 25k UEC, with a total cap of 170k UEC. What is the reason to keep all the staff working on AI when you have working AI?

What is the reason to have all designers when you have everything already designed? When you have something working you only need to maintain this, so much less staff is required to do this. They are not going to develop something that actively when the game is released.

I doubt that they need $2M if they have 100 employees. For instance FD staff is about 100 people.

As you're a person who like 100% proof, I would like to know where we have seen any proof that the AI is working? Looking at ED this is a CI and you defiantly need a working game to test it. Until now we haven't seen anything in game that indicate that the work is done. So speculation is all we got so far, in this matter as well :)

If AI is not working then who can people fight with in Vanduul Swarm? Who is controlling the pirates in PU at communication arrays?

Marvin, no wonder that poor robot is so depressed.

Seriously though, I thought the game's AI was supposed to be involved in far more than just space pew pew. The NPCs are supposed to lead little electronic lives of their own and drive the economy and all that stuff.

Depends on how they are planning or are capable of implementing this.

Regarding ED this is not the way how it is implemented as far as I know.

Right now there is the basic Spaceship Battle AI, the FPS Ai is been working on(Source --> Monthly report), multicrew AI the same, the background AI with the resource gatherers, missions, production... will come later.

It will take some time until they finish with it.

Well, sure, and that's understandable. But saying that there is no AI at all is definitely not correct. You cannot expect to have everything already implemented during the very early stages of the development.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
It's peculiar - they seem to have given up.

The thread appears to currently be without a committed SC champion!

I'm a fan of CIG and I'm looking forward to the game, but I just can't bring myself to endlessly hash and rehash the same stuff over and over and over in here.

I just have to read it all! :D

No one forces you to pledge $18000. The cheapest game package costs $40, which currently includes single player SQ42 campaign as well (until they separate them). And as far as I know this includes all future SC updates (i.e. there is even no need in lifetime expansion pass for SC for now). Also as far as I know it is going to be possible to buy all in-game assets for UEC.
That's nothing than pure speculation.

It's almost like you have paid no attention whatsoever to what the outcomes of his various statements over the decades :)

That still does not mean that Backer42 is right. The plan is that uec is the ingame currency. You earn it by playing or you can buy limited ammounts in the shop. The limit is 25k per day up to a max of total 150k uec. This has been said mutiple times and is FACT. It is nothing that has not been confirmed until now where we can just speculate. If that would be the case, backer42 would be right with his "pure speculation" opinion.

Additionally i dont know why this would be a logical choice that uec would be a pure real money currency. This would mean that there is no ingame currency, all transactions in the PU with real money? Why should i do trade runs if i can not earn ingame currency? Why should i do bounty's if i cannot get something for it? That makes no sense that uec, the only pu currency is real money only (Ok, maybe this would work with player to player missions, but there is a lot of npc stuff too. NPCs dont have real money). Earning something is a main progression in such a game. If you remove this there would be no game. Iam really sure that the wise people at cig know that.

In the end i think they will increase the buyable amounts for uec a little bit, but iam very sure (200%) that it will be a ingame currency too.
