[INDEPENDENT] Dedicated Private MOBIUS PVE Groups for the PC, PS4, XBOX with over 50,000 Commanders.

just a heads up, I am currently getting an error 500 when attempting to open the group window to accept join requests, as soon as this is fixed or when the servers are less busy I should be able to accept all outstanding invites.
Did this resolve? I hope we haven't hit some undocumented internal limit for group size. :(

1.for question one its a private group no one can get in unless they ask the vast majority of us are in it because we dont want to face pvp fighting 4 players or in situations thats hopeless. since iv joined iv only ran across one person who has been a at.

2.hallow triangle means the player has deployed his weapons hallow square is their weapons and hard points (scanner chaff) are retracted.

3 most of the time there wont be a player however if there is and you hit him apologizing at once will usually solve it.

4. not very often once your out of the starter systems the jokers dissipear.

Hey all, yesterday I've applied to join the group, as I do like being in a universe with other players, but I am averse to PVP. My CMDR name is Lyneira.

I'm currently taking part in the Distant Worlds expedition, heading to Waypoint 8 in an Imperial Clipper and I'm hoping to be able to meet up with some friendly CMDRs who are also on the expedition. :)

Welcome to the group, Commander Lyneira. I’d recommend you to sign up on our forum at https://elitepve.com where you’ll find several other commanders who are taking part in the DWE. In any case, good luck and fly safe!

Obviously too many members..we need a cull, by decimation or the young, those infirm, those too old, too poor or too rich, those with lisps, those that st..st..stammer oh dang:eek:

This came up on another thread so I figured I may as well ask here - is there a policy around scanning other commanders?

I've basically scanned people since day 1, because curiosity. (By scanning here I mean, targeting the other commander and facing them).

However, it was brought up elsewhere that this can cause missions to fail, so it might be perceived as hostile.

I've never considered a scan to be hostile, but, then, I guess this was never a factor until the "don't get scanned" type missions appeared.

Is there any group policy around scanning? It'd be a shame to not be able to see other player's stats and stuff.

I really don't think that a basic (=passive) scan counts when it comes to that type of mission, pretty sure you would have to use a cargo scanner (=active) for the mission to fail.

What he said ^. Also I may be wrong, but I believe that the mission is not to be scanned by one of the NPC’s spawned as part of the mission or by NPC security ships.

We have no specific policy about scanning other commanders at this point.

Mine may have been the post in the other thread. :) As far as I know active scans by players are "shared" with any Authority ships in the area, so although NPCs will not scan you while docked, any active scans by a player when an Authority vessel is present will cause "no scan" missions to fail. This is being actively used in Open Play by CMDRs at Robigo and other sites popular with mission stackers. They consider mode switching to stack missions to be an exploit (or they're just gits) so they wait for a player to pop into their Open instance inside the station, then scan them causing tens of millions worth of missions to fail.

There is nothing within the rules of Mobius to prevent this from happening there too, but I've yet to see any evidence that it is.

I wouldn't want to make a judgement call on whether this is something that should be added to the rule list or not. On the one hand it is clearly an activity whose sole purpose is to disrupt the chosen gameplay of another player, and so out of alignment with the fundamental principles of a PvE group. On the other hand it is using one arguable exploit (the ability of players to scan within stations when NPCs can't) to defeat another arguable exploit (mode switching for easy potential profit) so may be justified depending on your individual ethical standpoint.

Now over to the administrators. Good luck ;)

there are no rules for scanning other players, but I have no issue on removing players being immature by spoiling another players game.

as soon as frontier sort out my 500 error ill be able to accept you, Frontier are currently looking into my issue with plans to improve there own infrastructure at the same time, its a priority case but still ongoing and I have no time frame as to when its going to be solved though im hoping that it will be done by this weekend.

Frontier have got back to me and gave me an interesting statistic.
out of the 19,000 members 1500 have not logged in since August 2015, that leaves us with 17,500 commanders that actively play in our private group.

OOOOHH! Wow! And I thought I was optimistic with maybe half!
Now those are really awesome numbers! (We should see that on the group panel, that would be cool ;) )

Still, will you be able to accept again, soon? We have many commanders waiting....

That's a great number! Really glad to see how successful this group is! :)
