Hellow DWers and non-DWers!

I made around 20 career and achievement badges for ED, some might be of interest for us travelers in DW ;)

Hi, Good patches!

Since you have one for Columbus, prehaps one for the re-discoverer of North America, John Cabot, see here, for which my ship "The Matthew" is named after ;-)

Columbus found the West indies, not North America.

Here is a nice photo of the replica in Bristol Harbour:

I wasn't finding it particularly sociable sticking with the main fleet. I would land at a meeting point and there would be a load of other ships there, but no one said or did anything. I would just sit there looking at everyone else looking at me. Occasionally an SRV would drive by and maybe I would get into mine but everyone just ignored each other, and then people took off and flew on their way. I'm not one for socialising in big crowds anyway, I prefer smaller groups. Given the inherent risks of lag and damaging my ship I stopped attending. And also the risk of getting bored and damaging my ship in a landing while waiting for the rest of the fleet to catch up I ended up going at my own pace. I'm now at Way Point 18 after having already returned to the bubble twice. But I've personally found it more sociable doing that because there's a small group of us on Discord who chat as we fly along. We're all spread out across the galaxy and going our own routes to all kinds of places, but occasionally some of us find that we're in the vicinity of one another and have an impromptu meet-up. We're generally using the same way points as Cmdr GSRTrent posted but deviating from it as we please.
I've had similar experiences. One problem is the in-game chat. I was watching a Twitch streamer who was in the same instance as I and his local chat was full of life but mine remained empty..

Still, I've enjoyed the trip. Sticking with the official WP's gives the journey some structure. I'm already 15 times further into the galaxy than I've ever been, yet it doesn't feel that far.

Ok so after 3 weeks of exploring, I crashed my ship into a high gravity world. Imagine my UNABATED JOY AND ECSTASY when I discovered, back at Founders World, that my pilot had managed to rescue all of the carbon, sulphur and phosphorous I had collected in my SRV and pile it into the escape pod just before my ship was plastered across said world. I'm so glad he picked these objects rather than the tens of millions of credits worth of cartographic data which is quite dull by comparison. THANK YOU FRONTIER DEVELOPMENTS! xx

Here is a few numbers for my journey so far. which quite surprised me.
As the Crow flies Pallaeni is 40,164ly with a total distance of 61,376ly travelled so far.
1,970 new systems visited & 14,473ly farther than I have been before.
169 undiscovered water worlds & 13 ELW.

It's amazing what a CMDR will prioritise when violent death approaches. Carbon versus credits....I see his dilemma:)

Its a pity that FD haven't developed a part in the game were you can put on your spacesuit & leave your ship......I could have cleaned my dirty Asp while waiting for the WP12 location to be announced.

Is there Distant World merchandise - I may be a bit sad but I'd be up for a distant worlds baseball cap? Assuming it wasn't ridiculously priced due the options available for doing this stuff.

I can't be the only one thinking this, right?

It'll be up tomorrow, lots of players are still arriving as Sag-A* after spending the last few days catching up, the last thing they need is yet another waypoint announcement before they even get chance to stretch their legs at Sag-A* - especially on the eve of a key meetup event.. If you're one of the lucky ones who has time to burn, explore some of the other 100 billion or so systems around the core - there's some great POIs close to Sag-A* if you look for them, or head out to more distant DW POIs if you're bored of the core regions :)

Quite a few have suggested it and Dr Kaii has passed on the ideas pitched to FD. So the ball is in their court ;)

Iv been around Sag A* exploring systems since the 16th, was expecting the WP to be announced today, I want to get a snapshot of all the WPs visited & don't want to miss this one.

Im anxious to get moving to the other side of the core, as Iv never been further out than Sag A*. Waiting like a coiled spring!

Nope...I'm in for general merchandise if items of clothing get designed and printed.

On a separate note, do I detect tweaks to planetary graphics in 2.0.6, or is it just my imagination? Space looks blacker and HMCs seem to be a bit tidier in appearance. I'm loving space...although the System Map continues to depress me!

Flying happy (but still a long way from WP08...RL getting in the way. I've loaded up with four bottles of beer and I'm going to try and fly 2.5Kylies after tea).

Yeah I understand that :). I'm itching to get moving too - especially with what's coming up next week! But this weekend is about consolidation, regrouping, and a chance for a lot of stragglers to catch up, take a breather, and enjoy an iconic part of the galaxy with as many players as possible - this could be the last big sociable event for a lot of the fleet as we'll be back on track after tomorrows events and from next week the pace will pick up considerably as we leave the galactic core behind.

Can't argue with that Erimus, I know that im moving quicker than most - even though Im scanning nearly everything, (don't like to honk & go). Just have to pull the reins in for a while longer.

Enjoying being part of the epic journey & appreciate the work that you & everyone else has put into organising it.

Just spent the last 2 days catching up you guys from Sol... sorry I'm late peeps. Now spending time heading south to see how far down I can get from Sag A !! Looking forward to some formation flying :)
