You actually forgot a couple of ships...
We have at least 1 Corvette (2 I believe)
a T9
at least 1 Sidewinder
at least 1 Federal Drop Ship (pink)
And I believe we actually have several Cutters as well

For those that missed the event as they couldn't get in the same instance the key thing is communication. Either via teamspeak or Discord, get invited to a wing with someone who is already there, and once there drop from the wing to allow more people in. That's how it was done and it worked well until we reached 100, and then the drops started.
If you are not in teamspeak or Discord I recommend it, not only for the event, but for the banter that went on yesterday with Dr. Kaii, it was superb, best moment in ED so far.

I may have been the exception to this.... ;)

I jumped into SagA* a good hour before the planned meetup, saw a few contacts but nothing much going on. I checked with Teamspeak and the channels were basically empty (no one really speaking). With no real idea what was going on I spotted a low wake and randomly clicked on it.

Followed it in and found myself looking at this group of about 16 ships all being herded by an Asp acting like an Orchestral conductor. With no idea of what was happening I wandered closer and pinged off a message asking where everyone was talking. "Discord" came the answer.

So in the middle of the slowly growing fleet I popped back to Windows, installed and registered discord, got myself into the chat and was asked to move my ship next to the Wasp. Still none the wiser I did so and only then asked "Errrr.... I don't want to sound stupid, but what exactly is going on?"

Yeah... everyone laughed :D

I genuinely had NO idea it was the planned meet up! Just absolute pure luck and an insatiable curiosity got me into the biggest gathering in the game :D

I'd still love to know what FD did to get it working because it seems pretty obvious we broke the game afterwards.

There was one odd thing though: after every disconnect I would always join back in the main instance, I don't know how many others this happened to but I never once had to jump back in or wing up. Straight back to the meeting point every time.

You'll kinda have to catch up now, and play in the open group. There are about 100 folks in it, but all the private groups are locked, and will remain so.

Z...

Yeah, there's also a T-7, a couple of Mk. IVs both Cobra and Viper and some others I can't remember right know on the list. They aren't forgotten, I just didn't get to it yet. :)

Talking cool HUD colours, I find this amazing and is very nice on the eyes. I use it all the time now:

If we're talking HUD colors I have a few saved, used to have a lot more but lost the folder.

Purple base/Orange accents

A lot of what seemed to help was making sure we had the right player as the "host" of the instance. Since there is a heavy P2P component of Elite's netcode it seems like whoever is "hosting" is part of the limit. Towards the end they were reporting their CPU was at 90%, and they were running a high-end gaming machine.

Yeah, pretty locked.

Apply to the Erimus private group. If you make it to Beagle, we will get some kind of list for latecomers :)

I'm a bit torn..

I didn't sign up initially because I wasn't sure I'd be able to keep up with the fleet. And sure enough, I'm now between Waypoints 6 and 7 and falling further and further behind. By the time (IF!) I get to Beagle Point, the rest of the fleet will be already back at the bubble.

I know I could go faster, but due to relatively limited gametime and my serious OCD (obsessive compulsive dis...covery-scanning) I can't make more than 500Ly per day on average. Maybe I should just reach Sag A* - I've never been - take a photo and turn back. Hopefully I've done enough to make Pioneer.

I can't believe people can race to Sag A* in ~8 hours. I really can't.

There's a physical effort to travelling fast that you begin to feel after a while. In my case I played the original Elite on the BBC model B, so you could say I've been around for a while.
My record travel in 1 day is 6,000 ly and I'm not likely to repeat that again.
Good luck to those that can keep up the concentration to make A* runs, I guess I'm a bit past it. :)

I found I go a lot faster once I un-mapped the system view from my controls :) For all I know I could have flown through the Thargoid home world and not noticed it... I can average perhaps 2k/h but I'm usually short on h. The speed record holders would be over 3k/h...

Yikes.

I find I'm just getting cranky at the tendency to be dumped into a system in the opposite direction to your vector of travel. Just that slow turning around to align with the destination repeated time after time after time is starting to grate..

Are you flying an Anaconda? I bought one recently, flew it to Sag A* (my 2nd visit) and sold it immediately on my return. After that I bought an Asp and used that to get the last 10% for Elite. What a pleasure to fly an Asp again. :)
