[Distant Worlds] - A Rather Uncommon Flotilla

Almost at WP 10 and I bedded down here last night for some desperate R+R:

Love to but I am moving house today and won't get internet into the new flat until late Monday. I have powered down the Type 6E systems and put the old ship into a dormant state at Saggy A.

The past couple of days the progress was a somewhat slow, had to re-route many times because of un-scoopables, and the two baby girls on the back seat didn't help either. :)

But tonight I'm planning to breach the '60kly from Sol' barrier, then I'll be about 10 kly from BP I guess.
I will need to stop somewhere looking for mats, and even if I make it to BP before you guys, I'll definitely wait for the main fleet for the community photo event!

60kly, coming up! :)

Back online and at Saggy A after a week of RL (moving house). I managed to find find the bloody joystick and thrust unit last night hidden in a cardboard box . . . Tomorrow is going to be a long day of jumping and now I also have space man-flu!

My progress was quite slow this week, so I'm still about 5400ly away from Beagle Point, and about 63.3kly from Sol. I'll see whether I can make it, I'm still short on Germanium and Cadmium for the official route. But this is why I gave myself a head start, I will do my best to make it!

If I do make it, then I'll check out CQC and take a rest until the fleet arrives - believe or not, I saw other commanders only while supercruising, so I have no experience how my connection behaves with Elite. Unfortunately, I have only 4G mobile connection where I live, so I don't want to ruin my and anyone's journey with an accident. But if it looks fine enough, the DW fleet's only Keelback must be at the final gathering. :)

Happy to report that the Mallow has landed safely at WP09.

What a beautiful planet...breathtaking.

Pictures tomorrow...oh, no, I forgot. The rest of you have already been here!

Still, I can enjoy this landscape in glorious isolation. Truly amazing. FD...you have done us proud.

Anyone for a snowball fight?

Landed happily

ELW 64.5 kly away from Sol.
I would be surprised if l'll be able to claim this upon getting back, it is pretty close to the "BP highway", lots of systems have been discovered already - it is likely the DW fleet will pass by and will also get back earlier than me.

This one will be surely mine. AW orbiting an L-star, who'll open the system map of such a star? :)

Well, the Mallow has put down at WP10. All systems are still in good shape...94% hull and 95% PP.

I think the FGE are due here later. Looking forward to seeing some of the other Cmdrs.

A bit of R&R and then on to WP11.

Flying happy

Great shot! Though I'm often puzzled why shadows disappear (like on your image), it makes the images look odd and very 90's.

I crossed the 65kly magic line yesterday, and will set off tomorrow to reach Beagle Point as well. If I can make it, I'll wait until you guys arrive!

I've always assumed this is a bit of a bug...in fact I reported it to FD as such when Horizons first appeared. It seems that a lack of a direct lighting source causes detail in shadow to just disappear. I have a few more pics that highlight the problem. Turning on the SRV lights makes previously lost detail reappear!

Well done on the 65K LY line...I'll join you yet.

Take care and fly safe, Cmdr
