- Title: Federal Capital Ship In Maia Mistakenly Opens Fire On Saviour
- Description:
The Federation capital ship Warrior has today, on the date of the 15th of March 3302, opened fire on a ship responding to it's emergency distress signal. The incident happened in the independent system of Maia, far away from Federal space. The assaulted commander, a rear-admiral in the Federal Navy's auxiliary program was outraged at the incident. Here is what he had to say about the incident:

"I was at the helm of the Dark Soul, my personal Federal Corvette, when I received a distress signal coming from a few light seconds from my position in the Maia system. I dropped at the location and I was astounded to witness the FNS Warrior with one of it's main thrusters aflame. I quickly moved to assist it in getting rid of the pirate threat. After a few waves, I noticed with joy that the weapon systems of the Warrior were back online, only for my joy to be cut by distress as I was suddenly under fire from the capital ship!"

The commander had to escape the zone quickly to avoid a certain death.
This event raises a series of difficult question for the Federation: What was one of it's capital ship doing so far away from Federal space? And why did it open fire on it's rescuer? Was it conducting black ops and sought to eliminate a potentially inconvenient witness?

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes on this one, felt like getting in on the farragut submission train since this idea's been rattling around in my skull since these started happening. Also why no pirate Interdictors?

LOCATION: Galnet; important Federal systems; or just Sol.

TITLE: Congressional Investigation into Farragut mystery begins

DESCRIPTION: An official inquiry by the Congressional Oversight Committee has begun at the request of Congressman Bideford after reports surfaced of a pirate aligned Farragut Battle Cruiser striking out against federation battlegroups in the LHS 3447, Fuleum and HIP 16996 systems as well as unconfirmed reports of a potentially rogue cruiser far outside Federation space in the Maia system.

Speaking on a condition of anonymity, a source within the closed door hearings had this to say; “The scans say it’s a Farragut, the navy even said it was a Farragut in testimony today, however it’s not of ours and had no clear identification code so we can’t rule that it isn’t related to the S6:7 ship that scanned Obsidian Orbital yet.”

Title: The Canonn Spreads its Wings
Location: Varati and COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 (or 'IXTEE DEE' as I like to call it)
Time: Whenever you feel like it boss!
Description:
On the morning of 15th March 3302 the Canonn established itself as the newest political power in COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43.

This monumental achievement has come at the end of months of hard work: putting political, and sometimes military, pressure on the local factions of Varati to yield their controlling stakes in all the space station in the system, and resisting their anti-science agendas.

There have been rapturous celebrations throughout all the colonies, and the citizens of this boldest of frontier systems are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prof D Luffy, strategist and lead researcher, who is expected to make a formal tour in order to establish diplomatic relations with local leaders.

The Canonn is expected to begin establishing science facilities here immediately, in preparation for the deployment of Dr Arcanonn's new Research Outpost that will soon begin construction at Thompson Dock, Varati. It is hoped that a peaceful settlement can be reached with the existing factions to ensure a smooth transition of power over to the Canonn.

If this cannot be achieved, however, we understand significant tactical forces are ready to provide 'encouragement'.

Title: Canonn Research Group - Blinded by pursuit of knowledge or just pure recklesness?
Location: Galnet
Time: Whenever

Description:
With discoveries of Unknown Artifacts, and more recently the so-called Barnacles, Canonn Research Group has been allowed tremendous freedom in their research efforts by galactic population without any real official oversight. With recent announcement that integrating meta-alloys with our technology could potentially help solve the various black-outs and problems our stations have been encountering for months, many begin to question if integrating such technologies, which we know nothing about, into our own technologies is really good idea. One thing is certain though, we do not yet know the true origin and purpose of neither UEs or meta-alloys, yet there are those that are eager to use them, without really considering safety of our civilization. Our galactic race has come so far, but yet our comprehension of wider cosmos is not on such level that we can for certainty say meta-alloys are safe to use and no private group should be allowed to risk safety of whole race. This group of scientists has been also recently encouraging transportation and theft of those potentially dangerous materials, without also considering the risks. People in charge of protecting and leading our galaxy should shift their attention on this sensitive matter and possibly put Canonn activities on hold and appoint independent auditor of this group.

Title(feel free to edit): Season One of Five Week Galactic Combat Championship Comes to an End with a Decisive Winner.
Location: Galnet Global
Body (edit as you feel fit):

This week the first season of the Galactic Combat Chamionship has come to a spectacular finish. The five week invite only tournament set out to show the prowess of multiple notable combat oriented groups when pitted against their competition in a controlled environment and to prove once in for all who the combat king of the galaxy truly is. The competition saw notable groups known for their tough combat skills, but from very different backgrounds. Competitors in the first season included Adle's Armada, Blood Brothers from Alrai, Ronin of Amarak, Triadius, Contrail and the Balkan Intergalactic Guerrillas with CMDR Oogie Boogie, Balinos and Z. Brannigan procuring all legalities and permits in different star systems for this tournament to take place and CMDR Semperviren being utilized as the primary announcer for all publicly streamed proceedings with thousands of spectators taking part in the five week long championship tournament.

In its entirety, fifteen matches of three rounds were fought over the course of five rounds every weekend for five weeks with a spectacular 8v8 winner take all match for the finale in front of a live audience and thousands of online spectators. With all of the exciting moments, near wins and losses, a decisive victor had to be decided. That victor was Adle's Armada. The Federal combative force first got its notoriety being the premiere terrorist hunting force reigning from the Eravate system from which they exercise Federal law and work to protect all innocent commanders from criminal intervention. The Armada was a favorite going into this tournament, but it was not expected that they would come out of the fight completely undefeated having won every match. Adle's Armada leadership gave all of the praise and credit to its competitors; CMDR Poaarctica, Breakfastmelon, Philip J Fry and Truesilver with the addition of CMDR Finegan, Memoocan, Thatdamnranga and Cosmic Booty for the 8v8 finale against previously undefeated Blood brothers from Alrai.

Season two is set to start soon and will likely feature more groups and more match modifiers. Fans of the tournament should stay tuned for future announcements and fans of these groups are already placing their bets on the season two winner.

Title: Assassination Attempt on Commander Techeron

Description:
In a recent visit to SOL as part of his RnR, CMDR Techeron was shot and wounded by Federation radicals, dissatisfied with the Empires recent blockade of Beta Hydri.
A battle ensued, in which local security and the radicals exchanged small-arms fire.
CMDR Techeron was recently awarded one of the highest Imperial medals of honour for tracking and killing a high profile Federation target (Jethro) in LHS 3447.
As he was taken from the scene by medical staff, he made the following statement:
"This unprovoked and cowardly attack shall not stop the Empire and it will not stop me. I am an Immortal of Achenar...... Besides, a bullet feels like a kiss. Hot and surprised."
Our reporter on the scene confirmed that all the Federation scum involved were killed on sight.
We hope you all join us in wishing CMDR Techeron a speedy recovery.

[Please note that whilst this has been dramatised for Galnet, CMDR Techeron [Manuel Koller] was shot accidentally by a police officer whilst visiting a mall in his home town. The officer was aiming for a suspect and hit Manuel in the back.
He is fine and doing well and I thought this might help keep his spirits up.
Thank you]

Title: Federation President's initiative faces opposition
Location: Preferably galaxy wide. Secondary preference: Sol, Beta Hydri, Eta Cassiopeia

In a turn of events that has shocked the Federation Navy's top brass, President Hudon's initiative to build a new Federal battlecruiser exposed a growing problem inside the ranks of the expanding Federal Navy Auxiliary.

"This should have been a cakewalk," said one Federation ensign wishing to remain anonymous. "I mean, Beta Hydri is a permit locked system. You have to hold Navy rank to enter the system yet we've seen fellow Federal Navy officers in the system gunning us down!"

Opponents of the Federal Navy Auxiliary program have been quick to point out that they had predicted this kind of breakdown in discipline once it was announced that corporations would be granted the privilege of awarding Navy commissions and promotions.

It remains to be seen whether or not calls for an investigation and reorganization of the Federal Navy Auxiliary will be heeded.

Title: More Palladium Needed for Dr Arcanonn
Location: Galnet
Time: Before the end of the CG!
Description:

Nickolai Nowleski, the man leading the project to build Dr Arcanonn's new Research Outpost, has issued a plea for a final surge in mined Palladium to Thompson Dock, Varati:

"The response from the community has been incredible, but we still need more!"

"Yes, we're all exhausted - but this is too important a project to give up. I've been living on a particularly strong blend of local Varatian coffee just to keep everything running smoothly. I understand the local suppliers are now making it freely available to all miners to keep them going. It's great stuff, if you can cope with a few heart palpitations."

"We really want to hit the next milestone to get a Commodities Market for this new station. If we can do that, then Dr Arc will have everything he needs to do what he does best."

"So, please: come and mine for the Canonn between now and 3pm Thursday - the rewards are huge, and the camaraderie amongst the miners is fantastic."
