Horizons SRV Land Speed Record - What is YOUR Best Ground Speed (without flying off cliffs :) )

Heard that someone once got their SRV up to 70 m/s but that there was no evidence...
.
So gave it a try and came up with a sustained velocity right around 58-60 m/s. This was down hill on a flat stretch into a crater and held for about a minute before slowing down to a more normal speed. The gravity was high enough that it kept the SRV fairly glued to the terrain.
Topped out at 61 m/s.
Getting up there - 56 m/s

Faster - 57 m/s

Maxed Out! - 61 m/s

Edit: Finally got up to 71 m/s... only to be outclassed by The Golden Conda Himself - Domaq!

What is YOUR best sustained *ground* speed?
.
(*cliff jumping air notwithstanding and doesn't count :) )
.
Who has what it takes to smash this... and make themselves the record holder?
It shouldn't take long :D
.
POST IT!!

Good Luck!!

Nice runs both... Domaq didn't even get a chance for a Parade! :D But a +1 anyway

Congratulations, Nexolek!! This one is going to be tough to beat. +1

Any takers or even close seconds....

How the heck have you guys managed to find flat enough terrain to reach those speeds and not wobble into either spin or tumble, at those speeds the smallest bump is dangerous.

In my case it was a fairly gentle slope into a very large crater. Quite smooth down the wall other than the tiny rock I hit shortly after taking the screenshot. Suddenly I was upside down and backwards going ~100m/s IN THE AIR.

Being out on Distant Worlds I've had to be quite careful. There's one thing I'm looking forward to when getting back home: SRV stunts!

you did that on the distant worlds trip? you cray cray! have some rep!

And the Runs we've found are anything but "smooth". You can see in the screen shots some of the hits.... small ones usually 3-7%... unless you lose it :D

Hit about 71 m/s on a gentle slope on a 1.1g planet.

Jon, That is a very respectable run! :)
Certainly something to work with anyway.
