I often use three or four voice attack profiles to give myself "Crew". If I have, for example, Astra as my main voice and going to a Haz Rez, I can say "Prepare for Battle" and another voice will take over while i am in battle, if I am entering a station i might have another voice to request docking and and talk while i am docked.

That's all some people do though. They base opinions about people on rubbish they hear off "someone" and claim it as fact.
Very sad to see the slagging off of a performer like this. But this is the internet, everyone opines as if they are the last word on a matter from the comfort of their keyboard.

He got that reputation because he hated Star Trek conventions and once said the guys who dress up as them are stupid or something to that effect. I went to one....I cannot say he was 100% wrong

I 100% agree, and what I like about it is that ORION will take you on a tour, he has a background story, and there is some educational material in it too.
Would love to see more of this, maybe this could be a way to do exploration stories the player could do together with the ship computer.
Of course FD need to be in on it, as they need to put some assets in the game, like special places to go to, artifacts to find and so on.
Call it advanced missions
I would gladly pay 9.99 for that.
NPC crew is only a matter of time, the pressure to have it will increase for sure.
I could see some humorous modifications here...
-Install Shatners voice pack.
-Add a few custom commands such as "Sing you fool!" which will autoplay a selection of Shatner's 'songs'.

Watch out if you have a voice that sounds a little like William Shatner's (I didn't think mine did) if you want to use desktop speakers.
I'm trying the Orion Voice Pack from HCS for Elite Dangerous.
If your voice, which you've trained your speech recognition software to understand, is too close to William Shatner's, then you cannot use your desktop speakers while playing Elite Dangerous. If Orion's voice, when picked up by your microphone, is recognised by VoiceAttack, then what was a response becomes a command which repeats indefinitely. It's not a fault of the Voice Pack; it's just something you have to be aware of. It's usually better to play sounds through headphones anyway, but sometimes you just have to let your ears cool down a bit.
Maybe this is an age-old problem with VoiceAttack, but it's new to me and others might get confused by this behaviour.
