If I'm Zach Hudson, I do everything I can to make sure Halsey doesn't return to office in any form, because there's no way her DNA isn't swimming with Thargoid modifications, just waiting to open some door or disable some crucial defense system ahead of an invasion. Former leader of the Federation disappears for months and is the sole survivor found? No way - do not approach! Danger!

*edit - I stand corrected - she was not the sole survivor. Only increases the threat in my opinion ... imagine it, hundreds of potential agents released into the population, programmed to do who knows what?

Hate to be the fifth column element on this (actually I don't), but your poll could be more accurate with a third option of "Remains to be seen".

However I do stand with the idea that she shouldn't return to office, but that's more due to her ineptness as president with handling of a few situations prior to the disappearance of SS1.

Do you have the flight schedule and plans to prove they are really people who were aboard the ship when the incident happened?
Why didn't anybody look sooner into this, like right after the incident?

Actually there was a CG to search for SS1 after the accident. it failed.

Halsey lost the vote of no confidence, so her term of President is over regardless of her recovery.

The question will be is what will happen to her seat in Congress, presumably her system elected a new representative.

I am guess the vice president didn't survive.


Other thoughts, if Starship One had thousands of Escape pods deployed, how many passengers does a Beluga carry....

Never considered if Onionhead was related to the UAs, the UA being from the opposite direction to Onionheads original world
The bombing of Panem was conducted by Admiral Vincent, Hudson's ally, as a way of undermining Halsey's Authority and support.

Given the original S&R of Starship One failed, and the independent investigation of the wreckage failed, we may never know the truth.

With the ease at which Halsey could have suffered a further accident when her life pod was discovered, I doubt she has any information that will threaten Hudson's position.

Miraculous high profile survivor with now limited political support and power, seems like a poor choice for an Agent be it Thargoid or otherwise.
