Dear Frontier Developments please can you give us an answer?

In the upcoming upgrade for Horizons v2.2 fighters i have 2 questions :
a) Will we be able to carry only f-63 condor and imperial fighter only or will we be given option for empire eagle sidewinder and eagle?
b) will we be able to configure them after buying them ?

The question a) has been already answered. Yes, only these two small fighters and possibly some other in the future, specifically designed for this purpose. So no Sidewinders and upwards.
The b) I can't answer and it maybe even hasn't been decided. There are also plans for us to be able to tweak the SRVs, so maybe they are planning to hoard this together in one patch.

Well I hope that you can equip a docking bay on ships with a 5 size+ internal module. At size 7-8 you could get a sidewinder or eagle (maybe)

i asked about sidewinder and eagle because that overcomes the landing on high g planets in exploration

Don't you know FD never respond to any Questions for anything on here unless it's their Q&A post? I guess you're just trying to entice them out of the dev room ;) And then influence them? Not happening lol

And the answer is no.

No, you will be able to fit the hangar into the crafts that have a hangar bay door :) (The big three, FGS, Keelback, maybe others). And no Sidewinders and Eagles. They talked about it in one of the pre-Horizons streams

I don't think those ships would fit through the launch-bay though :(

Shouldn't be a problem for the eagle, simply reduce the hullmass a bit, stripping a single internal compartment for
foldable wings and voila you got the most beautiful atmo-lander with light armament you could dream of.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing a while back but recently I started thinking that they could have like a variety of fighter class ships though I also agree it would be nice if they were able to have fsd's as that would make landing on high g planets more survivable, the question that would naturally come though if that were the case is where would they fit the planetary vehicle hangars on it? These ships are tiny, but if we're going to be taking ships the size of say a corvette or the Beluga Liner or even the Panther Clipper into deep space the desire to land on planets especially as the game grows will become insatiable especially earth like worlds with dinosaurs.

Also just want to put out there, it would be really awesome if they made the procedural generation stick like it does in minecraft i can't tell you how much it kills the reality when you visit the same location on a planet only to discover that the land itself has changed even though it's only been say an hour since you last visited it.

Yea, still doesn't change the fact that it ain't gonna happen, unless FD changed their minds in last few months. ;)

After receiving community feedback they introduced the Diamondback Explorer, now they are said to rebalance the FGS.
I guess getting enough people upvote the idea after 2.2 hitting it is poissble, after all the allready got the necessary animations to do the trick
(animated up/down pivoting Diamondback engines).

And Adder has folding wings. :)
Alright let's do it!The sooner we start the better! :D

And you never thought to tell me this about the FGS in my thread questioning it's usefulness? Your cruelty sir knows no bounds.

They're not going to tell you anything about 2.2 seeing as 2.1 hasn't even left the starting gate yet. Don't know why you think they would, but you're going to be waiting until at least June before any concrete info comes out about fighters.

My cruelty is a key feature to my paintjob :D
I just overheard/overread a statement, but until it has happened nothing is official,
don't take it too serious unless it is stated in patchnotes.

While that remains true, it never is too early to express your concern with a possible way of implementation.
If they add the hangar as an internal, there will surely be a lot of combat focussed players ditching the module completely.

So what? If nobody uses the thing they'll change how it works. But this is just getting way too ahead of yourselves. Might as well be saying atmospheric planet landings are broken for all we know about them. This is the kind of discussion you should be having during the 2.2 beta at the earliest.

It is smarter to express the concern beforehand, to give FD the time to reconsider and maybe rework the add-on beforehand.
That is my opinion.
Discussing stuff when it is released is more tied to the factual integration of the mechanic, true.
Yet do you remember the storm of discussions about the POI mechanic when it was integrated?
That should be avoided with a sensible consideration and implementation beforehand.
