Ok, I think i've made my opinion on Powerplay clear a number of times, and my reasons for not participating.
But i have one particular bugbear that keeps annoying me. Its how static the whole thing is. It won't be long since PP has been around for a year, and in that time, not one power has failed. Initially it was stated that should a power stay in bottom place for several weeks it would be wiped out, but that never came to pass, despite i think a couple of powers qualifying.
So, perhaps its time to push the issue, and make it happen. If there is enough support for this action, i'd even be willing to join PP to help make it happen.
Yes, i know, it would mean one group would lose their power, but who knows, maybe any replacement power would be more interesting!
What it would require is as many PP players as possible, setting aside existing battles, and focusing on taking over the chosen faction's territories, or just undermining where possible, while of course, keeping their own systems secure from those who are not interested in this. A kind of alliance of PP players. For powers that do not border the chosen power, just help as you can. For powers that do border, expand into worthwhile systems. I'd also encourage those who belong to the chosen power to defect and weaken the power by not providing their support.
This is perhaps getting ahead of myself, since it may turn out that people don't like this idea at all, but just putting down some ideas for the moment.
So... who should it be?
Not to try and influence voting (hehe), here are some thoughts of mine.
Not Delaine: While perhaps one of the weaker powers, he is the only clear bad guy. I think he is worth keeping around.
Not Li Yong: People love his discounts.
Who might be a good target?
Aisling: She has lots of supporters, and being one of the "good" empire people, its understandable taking her down would be unpopular to many. But there again, she has plenty of haters as well.... ugh, that blue hair! I think it might get some support.
Patreus: Yeah, come on, how many actually like him?
Hudson: Two Fed powers, the loss of this jerk would be no real biggie
Of course, those who support him only for his bonus won't like it at all. Perhaps even more reason to target them!
Antal: Sorry Utopians, i know you guys love your power, and from what i've seen, one of the groups that are more focused on the RP aspect than others, but you are relatively weak, ripe for the plucking.
Anyway, vote away, and extra option included for those who think this is a bad idea or object for some other reason.
EDIT: Multiple choice poll. Allowing up to 3 choices.
