Hey LeCeballos
I have a leap motion mounted on my DK2. I never used a touch or the vive controllers, so I can't comment much on how it hold up to them.
The main problem of the Leap Motion compared to physical controllers is that you need to see your hands to use them. A physical controller keeps working no matter where it is. So when throwing a rock for example, you look a lot more like Zoolander than Superman, as you always have to keep your hand in front of you
I guess that in situations where losing sight of your hands is not an issue, it should feels a lot more natural than any physical controller. In the context of Elite it would mean you'd have to look at the panel you want to use (which is how it is in the game already), and then you could press whatever you want to select, but there would be no "flipping the button for the landing gear down while looking somewhere else".
I also finished my first VR/Leap Motion demo yesterday (well .. first milestone

, and the freedom the LM gives the user in the particular setting of my demo is much better than anything requiring a controller.
