Is Q2-Q3 still the target for Horizons?

I'm not worried about them hitting the release date. I'm simply curoius if the 2.1(?) Delay will affect the Console version.
I'm under the assumption that it will not since separate teams are working on the separate platforms. Also Gary stated that when the console version is released it will be at the current version, (2.X)

But we all know what happens when you assume.

I still like the idea that 2.1 was delayed for PC so that Horizons will launch on Xbox at 2.1 with PC. Not likely, but it would be a glorious move by FD to calm some of their customers on the Xbox side.

I'm starting to think the delay of 2.1 may be related to Xbox... [woah]

Hope so. I want to pay FD another £40 for a product I won't use, just to further my dream game.

Well since the pc version was released in December 2014 and horizons was released the following December in 2015 I'm going to put my money on a June release of horizons for Xbox as that will be a year since release so going to wait and see

Hate to be the guy but, official release was not till October. So, if we all take your theory for fact, i put my money on Horizons October release. :p

But, i really hope for a june release as well. :D

I did say nothing interesting!

Don't belittle yourself, your nothing interesting trumps mine ;-) Embedded set top box software is far more interesting than thousands of lines of code which only seem to generate bugs whilst slowing the world down (BT I'm looking at you!).

Edit and of course BT stands for Bacon Tasters.

I remember my product development meetings with Bacon Tasters very well. Plenty of theories on how to make bacon taste great, but the end result wasn't so tasty! :)

Horizons is still planned for Xbox and our Marketing and Community Teams will start releasing information as we get closer to the Release date.
When's that?

Hmmm, sounds like you know Bacon Tasters core philosophy --> talk is cheap, so lets talk some more.

Nice to see it's at the planning stage after all this time of promising it....did anyone with a Mac just feel a sense of deja vu or have a sudden nosebleed?

So it's just "planned?!" What have you guys been up to the past 4 months? Just "Planning" it to come to Xbox or actually working on it?

Hey guys,

First of all I would just like to apologise to everyone that feels downhearted about the lack of information regarding the Xbox One updates.

I truly *truly* do understand the frustration that you're feeling. I can understand that it comes from the best possible place which is that you want to be able to play and enjoy certain features and content. Whether that be the features to the current game like paint jobs or being able to explore planets and with the Horizons season pass.

The reason we haven't given an additional update past the previous ones is because we don't have any dates to share just yet. I understand that can be frustrating and I know that some people just want to know it's still in the being worked on.

The one thing I can say, if for any reason there has been a change to the progress that we're making, if it looks as though we find an issue that stops or blocks development we will let the community know and we would do it at the earliest possible opportunity.

Luckily I can say that this is not the case. The development continues to be ongoing and the team are working really hard to deliver features and content on the Xbox One version of Elite Dangerous.

Gary has previously said that we are aiming for Q2/Q3 to bring Horizons to Xbox One. This is still going to plan and if there are any changes to that then we will certainly let you know. I'm really hoping that we'll be able to give you more information in the near future but for now there's just a little more work to be finished before we can give you some dates with confidence. I'm hoping you'll be pleased when you hear the news.

I would just like to say that Gary really does value and respect the community and nothing would please him (or all of us) more than being able to share the dates and details with you. I have the upmost respect for Gary, he lives and breathes Elite Dangerous on Xbox One and I think that shows by how active he is in this community.

I hope that helps clear things up a little and in the meantime if you need anything at all, don't hesitate to get in touch with Brett (or myself) if you need anything.
