I'm thinking who might benefit from having a steady influx of MA to stations,
maybe someone engineered a "technological" plague to have MA in large amounts inside stations?
Gonna keep my eyes peeled, someone must have a base closeby launching special forces to intercept VIP transports.

4 separate prods to sell meta alloys to affected stations - with the first being the one that originally told us how Obs Orb was fixed with one. Still, no station has been revived/repaired yet.
If you farm these things the way various people showed throughout the CG, there's a lot of money to be made out if these things if you have the patience. I don't think it's going to stay that way forever - I think if you want make meta-alloy profit, the time to do it is now.
I'm scooping out the Conda again, and filling her up. It's a toss up between Bond Hub, Ackerman's, or possibly the Truckers' dead station (if the commodities market is back up there) for me. If asked Prof D Luffy, I know what he'd say.

I think you might be closer to the truth than you realize.
Recall that unknown ship that "wasn't" a diamondback (explorer I think ?) - maybe the barnacles are indeed making clones of our ships - sort of Cylon - esque
New Thargoid (or whoever) fleet hiding and being built in our midst - sort of ships that might get close enough to say an unsuspecting capital ship and blow it away or kidnap a professor ?
And on the subject- are we sure those pods contained the real Prof and Halsey ?
Are the affected stations crews um... "unaffected" ?
We need bigger rolls of tin foil.
Something tells me these new modules are either going to be a Trojan horse, or are going to be fortuitously useful when the tinfoil hits the fan later on.
Don't forget future inventions, like "evacuation shelters" forged from MA,
like plastering your home base with a giant neon sign reading:
"I killed a barny and i liked it! See my shiny MA-plates!"

from orbit is impossible, from surface you must be really low to see something.. in the scanner they are ''invisible''.

ONe interesting thing to note, is that the first ship to find a barnacle was a Diamondback. The "UFO" ship that was scanning Obsidian Orbital was a Diamond Back. Perhaps in the lore, the ship was taken over (or reproduced? maybe they can mimic us?)
All that said, I think the Diamondback is the perfect Barny hunter. Small, good jump range, great control for flying near the ground. You can pretty much land anywhere.

Well I seem to remember a recent Galnet article about Sirius Inc needing to improve security & outfitting at their stations, & with the Formadine Rift interest, & "something worse than the Thargoids" out in that direction, I suspect Robigo might be a good station to get cured & beefed up
I have spotted a barnacle from about 3km up from the night side, though, so you don't have to be THAT low. Very easily missed from that high up though.
My french is poor, but my understanding was that they were just larking about doing canyon running high jinx. Were not looking for them.
With a very few exceptions (Red's Shell and the Wireframe drawings), just playing the game with no interest at all in the subject is how ALL the UA related discoveries were made.
or is Palin some sort of evil mastermind, who created the UA, which led us to the Barnacles which led us to Meta Alloys which we suddenly find will allow us to equip our stations with modules designed and engineered by Palin himself who once they are install in enough stations will then seize control of those stations.
