Where did I say I didn't care?...
In the OP. You know, where you typed "I didnt really care". Stop accusing people of not reading well, there is no ambiguity here.

You are right I did write that so I apologize on that part.but read it in the context. Not I dont care bout the game.I didnt care about flying without buyback...You purposefully took it out of context..
Dude's played 200+ hours and is now bored it it? That's not bad.
He says he'll be back too.
Honestly there's nothing to say everyone has to play consistently for 10+ years every day or else the game is at fault. Dip in, dip out. Not many games you'd have 200+ hours from and still know you'll come back to.
"So I was drunk yesterday and by accident set the dog of my girlfriend on fire. She told me she never wants to see me again but I dont care lol. My life is so miserable now I cant stop crying. But she's stupid anyway, who cares about girls, right?"
Totally unintendedDid you inintentionally participate in "Monday is fly below insurance day"? [noob]
One thing I see repeatedly in threads like these is opulent amounts of the word "grind". And since you seem to be of the kind, as well, I would like to point out that Elite, unlike basically every other game out there, doesn't force you to grind. You can enjoy all the features and everything this game offers from the start. But grinding for things is so strongly burned into habits of most gamers that they just can't help themselves.
What part of ED isn't 'grindey' though?
You need to grind for everything pretty much, and the two worst culprits are: cash, and reputation. Undisputed the absolute fundamental basis for everything you can / cannot do. The lesser being cash, but reputation? That's a killer, an absolute killer, single handedly saps your will to live. Even CG's are a grind.

Love all these people that keep commenting on the OP's post as if he is whining when he is in fact simply explaining his viewpoint on the game.
The fact is, he is right. ED is eeeeeeeeeeeeally boring and has been pretty soulless since it launched. Some updates have helped flesh it out, but it all comes back to the same things. The Op is so right when he says its a multiplayer game with no real multiplayer association.
Most missions involve flying around killing the same dull ships over and over, or docking repeatedly
Then again, there is bounty hunting! Sounds cools, but is just killing the same dull ships over and over!
Oh and planetary landing! Like docking repeatedly, but just as boring and on planets.
OP actually probably did himself a favour. Seriously, i played a good many hours on this game, had a fully A class FDL, Clipper, and a few others. Once i stopped though, i never looked back, which is the key point here. The
Never looked back.......
I don't know how but please fix this as I want this genre to succeed.
It is only grindey if you make it, i've never grinded for anything in game..Been playing since early Beta.
Back when I did commodity trading in the early days - I'll do a few hours of runs listening to an album, always make sure that they are varying routes (rarely A-B-A) reach a modest goal then pick a Nebula and go do some sightseeing or exploring/ Mining, practicing FA-OFF in various ships for a few day's, come back and fly some more routes, was never a grind.
Combat - Focused on PvP skills, never sat in RES sites for weeks or months on end, would generally hit a RES with a cmdr for a few hours, mix it up with a few SSS or Nav beacons, tried various ships and loadouts - Never a grind gaining combat rank.
CG's - Flew cargo to register myself on the board, helped defend other traders, sometimes helped with blockades, mixed things up and didn't focus on being the top of the board - Never a grind, made a nice bit of cash and made some new friends and enemies.
Exploration - Never Jumped honked for weeks on end, scanning every icy ball 1,500,000 LS away, studied various stars/locations/Nebulae and set out on a mission to visit them, or helped chart regions for galactic mapping projects - Never a grind
Mining - Did it for relaxation mainly, normally a break from other activities.
Ship ranks - Am at post commander, not grinding for the Corvette, I can see my rank slowly increasing through my trade and donations whilst smuggling to various ports, it will come in time. Cutter was obtained same way as the Clipper, through playing the game normally.. I did sit at a station collecting donation missions for a few hours, got bored to death.
Closest thing I've ever experienced to grinding is GTAV online, I quickly put a stop to that and started enjoying the game.
