Oh my god...THE TURRETED LIGHT SHOW POSSIBILITIES, GUYS.
DISCO CORVETTE TIME!
I have noticed a trend frequenting these forums of people posting massive threads that list the ways in which this game is boring, buggy or broken compared to other games they have enjoyed in the past.
Didn't read the whole text.
First of all, does it matter if the game is set to have a 10 year development plan when the basic core game is likely never going to change? Will there be any difference to the real gameplay 2025 in comparison to 2015? I'm not so sure. FDEV did a great job making the universe huge. But there are also equally huge flaws in the design that makes the game very boring and repetitive. Interstellar objects are very basic and doesn't give much room for jaw-dropping moments; game is simply too much of a simulator for me to fully enjoy it.
I'm not going to talk about grinding...
I wish Elite would be a better game than what it is currently. But in my opinion it's very mediocre, and playing more than 3-4 hours every week makes me crazy of boredom. I know things will come, but I fear those are just features, features that makes the gameplay wider but not deeper.
One more thing..... FDs pricing and business policy really put me off of it. I still remember how cheated I felt after getting Horizons for like 50 euros when I could've gotten 2 games for the same amount of money and still gotten more satisfaction from those games than I did from Horizons. I will hold onto my money for a while before purchasing anything new from FD.
I don't mean to dwarf the work that FD has done, but I really expected something....more.
hmm, pretty sure its been less than 5 weeks since the last post on the dev update sub forum.
New bobble heads were a quick promotion of Frontiers other new game. Call it shameless advertising, much like the post above from BACKER #-4112 (Sorry bud, but I didn't click your really attractive link)
Yeah, and if they're living up to their promises, I'll be a very happy camper tooAlways flaws with a game, but it looks like a few of the promise updates will hit soon, including better AI. Which will make me a happy pilot in them ComNavs![]()
Absolutely nothing wrong with people doing that .. It's called "constructive criticism"
Your post however was just something else. "Early stages of development" is a poor excuse for a shallow game : this isn't an "early access" game, it's a full release with additions planned![]()

You joking. Cheer is already at alltime high. After months of development of 50 people, bobbleheads were introduced. Everything else was delayed, there are no news, no communication about state of the game, just silence and endless streams, that nobody cares about.
Once engineers are released, you are getting colored lasers, better fsd range and bigger cargo racks. Changing these constants took fdev half year of hard work.
Now imagine, what can they do in year?
Hmm, that's.. a lot of make-believe...Which is why a glass half full attitude .. helps, everyone;
SRV unexpectedly blew up? Space is a dangerous .. a seal broke, system failure. Bad luck, but "stuff" happens?
Not enough missions? The Galnet is corrupt, only major players get to post. Like off-shore tax havens, the Elite Pilot's Federation needs to lobby for more democracy, while understanding these things don't happen overnight.
No passenger missions (yet)? NPC's are carrying them! Why? Dunno, infectious diseases .. ?
You expected the impossible. Frontier isn't EA or Sony Interactive. They literally cannot do everything at once, or provide the best part of 10 years of developments and improvements in two.
Arguably, no game studio on the planet can delivery ten years worth of development and experience driven improvements in two. To presume that's even plausible is rediculous.
Not that you are suggesting such a thing, right? Because that'd be pretty unreasonable.
Nice to see that you now think there are more than 3 people working on Elite Dangerous now![]()
zzzz

I tried. Just wanted to lift some spirits as I keep reading really negative threads.
I never expected them to deliver all their promises in a single release.... Never said it anywhere.
But simple game mechanics like interaction should've been a lot better.
I fear that in 2025 we will board derelict ships to scan data terminals and get credits for it. And a huge corporate company with huge amount of cash doesn't mean great products. I know a few games that were made by a handful of people that just squashed the big AAA titles. Huge budgets doesn't mean good games. There are a little more to it than that...
Hmm, that's.. a lot of make-believe...
Oh well.. easily countered with a healthy dose of ocd!
I'm so upset, I've been rage-playing the game regularly for months!!
Your flogging a dead horse but +1 for trying. Can someone tell me what all these wonderful games are I missed out on ? Just so i can perhaps understand what i missed.I tried. Just wanted to lift some spirits as I keep reading really negative threads.
