So someone keeps arguing that the Python is better then the FDL at PvP...I'm open to changing my mind...

Hehehe. Ok. I just can't understand those players loving this ship.
I tried this ship about every month at beginning and after 1.5 released.
It was like comedy. After a month i thought.. Ok maybe i am stupid, maybe i am a bad pilot. Hey maybe AI now is better or something else.
And each time i bought FDL i was so dissapointed about it. Just...
Just because other ships offer a lot more! The Python. Thousand times better than FDL as a combat ship.
Not to mention it can be also multipurpose. Same price.

I think people get a FDL while using MKB and have a terrible time, wondering how they are still getting outturned by pythons. Join the wide wonderful world of 6dof controls and you will see.
FDL is the best combat ship in the game... it's just that that's ALL it's good for.

how is the MKB limits the turn rate?Is MKB = Mouse KeyBoard?Because a ship should turn the same speed regardless of controller..................... "should" is the keyword here.

Interesting thread over there on reddit...typical XBox bravado though, FDL vs Python in PvP, unless the FDL pilot is Hellen Keller, that Python is slag.

Otherwise, I'm sure we'd be seeing a lot more Pythons in the PvP league, which we didn't, wonder why.....

It began very long time ago when experienced players advised less experienced players that FDL is better.
And it still continues...
Moneuverability? You must be joking. FDL can't outmoneuer rotating and turreted Python. Even turreted Cutter (my experience). It can only run away. D
Moneuverability? Over firepower, shields, shield cell banks? You can put 2x 6 class, 2x 5 class and 1 x 4 class SCB instead of 2x 4 class on FDL. :D

Definitely going to have to get myself behind the control of one of these babies soon so I can make my opinion more current. I was enjoying the FAS too much to be in anything else and before that, the Python. Right now I'm bouncing between the CGs in an iClipper. Now there's a fun ship to fly (gimbal reliance keeps it from being all that in PVP engagements but it can move well even with over 2k worth of hull). Anyway, FDL...

FAS hmm.... Gunship is better. Even better than FDL.

Yea, I don't know. I fly both. FDL fly faster, turns faster, has better shields (with SCB's) and the 4 mc mediums against Python's 3 large anything don't really gimp at all. I really like my Python, but the FDL is clearly a better fighter choice to me.
Maybe when Engineers hit and the Python can get some more interesting weapon choices.

I have no experience with the federal fighters so no comments from me regarding those.

Oh, we've got you folks beat on the rude factor, that's true enough, but trying to tell anyone that a Python is better than a FDL for PvP...that's funny stuff. I know you aren't doing that, you know which way is up so to speak, but that guy...funny, and I think he means it, which is even funnier. All that talk about turrets...in PvP...think I might have cracked a rib laughing.
