Well here's my first entry for the Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge Race Short Route in my Diamondback Explorer. It was a bit of a disaster but I'll post it anyway!

I did the Wuthielo Ku leg first and then the long run to Leesti (246ly), bad approach to the letterbox and crashed underneath it, I couldn't extricate the ship in time so got burned up by the station :O

I made the insurance claim and repeated that leg to give time of 49:54 - I reckon it should be easy to shave at least 10 minutes off that!

That was my first run and 32t put me in the top 50%

23,390 tonnes delivered by 470 cmdrs
Tier 3 is now achieved 20% increase to allocation of Indi bourbon
Tier 4 looks like 40,000 tonnes

Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge

Well it's Saturday morning UTC and the first 2 runs are in. CMDR Rilzi has posted a good looking time in his Asp for the Long run, and er, someone else has posted a rubbish time for the short run. There are no takers yet for the Tea-Baggers challenge - come on baggers - you know you want to, one screenshot is all it takes!

The weekend has started, so get your racing overalls out, strip down those ships and get your entries in!

Fantastic, a CG I can really identify with.

Smuggle booze to bribe corrupt officials to get more booze... blooming brilliant!!!

Where do I sign up!!!

:D

Awesome!! Can I refer you to Page 1 of the CG thread, as Kietraz has got a list of the full details, and has been good enough to put up a list of locations as well for the alcohols that we need!!

Come along and pick up a bottle! The pace is doing great, and I hope we will get up to T6-7 easily, if not completion!!

See you around, and I hope this isn't too late based on your post time!

The Hat :)

E:D Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge

My first ever attempt at one of these racing challenges in my Asp Explorer: 1:06:08
Screenshots

Actually just completed a second run but that took a few minutes longer even after removing some parts/mass.
As I was jumping out of Leesti got stuck in hyperspace and then the connection dropped and as I approached the final station at Epsilon Indi the Feds interdicted me for a scan (and fine).

(First attempt was in Open, the second in Solo.)

Anyway in the Top 10% with 236t delivered so far.

This CG is great fun.

Always loved CG's based around longer tasks than just going back and forth (or at least longer trips).

Pretty certain I'm not going to get into top tiers, 'cause I'm making a lot of small detours while doing the booze route.

But I'm having a blast and that's what matters.

I took the short version of the Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge, flying the Federal Assault Ship Surprise* from Mansfield to Eranin, Leesti, Wuthielo Ku and back to Mansfield in 1 hour and 26 seconds.

IMGUR link

By a stroke of good fortune, no CMDR pirates, griefers or misguided do-gooders attempted to stop me at any point during the run, in contrast to my last loop around where I had bother at Epsilon Indi and Leesti.

*The surprise in this case being that a railgun-armed FAS flying Delaine's colours is a trade ship. ;)

@Zoy,

I made a run around the long course, but travelling in the opposite direction to everyone else (Wuthielo Ku first). I didn't realise that everybody had used the same route until after I'd finished my run.

I'm not 100% sure if that's allowed, so I'll not post screenshots yet.

Will be making another run later anyway when the kids are in bed, or tomorrow evening if I don't get time.

I'm enjoying this CG, the perfect way to get back into ED after a few weeks absence, racing and smuggling. :D

It's logical to do the longest leg with lightest ship, no? :)

Absolutely fine, you choose the fastest route you think. IMO WK first makes sense - least weight over longest distance. Say no more...

Looking forward to your time
