I'm a bit late with my question (been on holiday)....
But if they are still answering: What can I do to make a station / port on the ground, create a commodities market? Quite a few don't have one...

Nothing standard. But if you can think of a Community Goal, you can submit your own CG that would be to open a Commodities Market in a given starport.

Difference of Tables / Dev Update January and Livestream

hello, i have an aftermath-question.

i spotted a difference between the table you have shown in the livestream, and michael brookes table shared in the new-year dev update here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=221826

your table gibes influence:down for smuggling commodities, while michael brookes table gives a positive influence effect for illegal trading.

from recent tests we know your table is right ;-) --- was it changed in between?

also: your table don't specify "piracy", differently to Michael Brookes table - i assumed that the BGS recognizes selling stolen goods via BM as piracy. is that gone?

What about coup? Is coup considered conflict?

That sounds like it's probably a translation of one of them. The English versions are:
- Civil War
- War
- Election

Hopefully you can work out where Coup fits in by a process of elimination with the other states in your language.

Thanks DaveC -but Coup isn't a translation. It's english, though I don't know the origin. It was mentioned in the video when you have really high influence but don't control the system. I was unclear if it was an independant state, or if it shows up as War/Civil War

coup [ko͞o]NOUN
  • a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government

got ourselves a misunderstanding here.... Let me see if I can clear the waters...

- So, Phoenix, there are two routes to win control of a system :
level influence with the controlling faction and kick off a war/civil war/election OR
push the influence level of the non-controlling faction up to 70% which will automatically kick off a war/civil war/election with the controlling faction.

This second route was what was referred to as a 'coup' in the video. However, both routes use the fundamental base method of a conflict state - war/civil war/election.

I believe DaveC thought you had misinterpreted 'coup' for a conflict state, and that it was possibly one of the states in the foreign language versions. However, it is simply the jargon used by FDev on the video to represent one of the methodologies to bring about the war/civil war/election conflict states, that can trigger asset change (station flip) and ultimately system control change.

Hope that helps, best

Makes sense. I had been expecting "Coup" to appear in the states section, based on the way it was discussed. Not sure that wouldn't be an interesting mechanic....have a coup act differently than the other conflicts...perhaps based on minor faction alignment. Anyway.

Thanks for the clarifying comments.

What affects the opening, existence and disabling of Black Markets.

Major faction allegiance effect?
Power effect?
Government type effect?
State effects that open or close BMs?

[edit]

Uh sorry for necro - wrong year.
