(Who is about to be ejected from the existing ones ?)

It's unknown as yet if they even are ejecting one (when PP first dropped, we were advised it could accommodate up to 20 powers).

However, quite rightly some of people in the Powerplay circles are getting nervous about the potentiality of one of them going on the cutting block to make way because as usual Frontier haven't been very forthcoming with a definitive answer as to if it will or won't happen, let alone who it will be.

Thanks for the info Goose.

Same message as before - good luck - I hope a player faction is promoted. I also hope that FD start to speed things up so that more powers join / leave. Makes the game (IMO) more exciting when there's drama and action - stagnation kills it for me.

EDIT:
To save a post thanks Arubeto ( +1 to you ) - didn't see the official link from FD. Interesting .. it's only taken a year :D

I imagine this will be the start of the expansion which will head towards the 20 mentioned.
Many more Dangerous Games to come...

The Alliance is the most powerful faction of the 5 listed, obviously. We objectively have the biggest and most well organized player base. The key to the Alliance's success has always been their mature player base and rock solid leadership.

That being said, the Alliance wishes to retain it's current place in politics. Becoming a player power seems like a surefire way to make sure your faction gets run into the ground.

GalCop, of course. :)

Besides, frogs are cool. I collect them in RL. Not the animal, but the gemstone/crystal/metal ones.

GalCop is a wonderful idea! :)

Sometimes I wish that authority ships and bounties in Elite: Dangerous would be a bit more like the original GalCop solution, making bounties very undesirable (hard to remove and causing strong police reactions in safe systems), global (shared among all systems), but you'd only get a bounty if police authority ships are present and record the attack.

I didn't even know this was going on. I just searched Border Coalition to find my own thread. Thats a horrible discription for us.... Its a description for the Mercs mostly. In fact, none of our three groups knew this was going on. Somehow the comments are full of all of our competitors.

So we made a video that may help people understand what the Border Coalition represents:

Please update our description with that:

Or please use our thread:

SEPP are sweethearts. Keen on the role play, they organise almost entirely in their thread on the Groups Forum. Kranco is a delight. But don't dismiss them, they have not been working the BGS as long as some of the other groups, and their earnest work has put them at the big table. I would think they have their work cut out for them running a power, as they'll need more resources than a thread on FDev. Maybe you are the one to help make a difference for them. Stop Press: the Distant Worlds Expedition DWE has pledged to support SEPP.

Thanks for the kind words and the extra information on all the groups. That will help ppl a lot to figgure out who best fits their interests. :)

One thing to add about SEPP: The Group Forum Thread is like our frontpage, we like to post news and chit-chat there and it's our main recruiting place. The links there guide ppl to the things they might be searching for.
Speaking of wich, here is the link: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=178496

But don't be mistaken. Our Discord server is where all the magic happens. ;)
There we communicate, plan and answer questions. You can also find many great screenshots from explorations there. Besides that we of course have spreadsheets and all the stuff a dedicated BGS group needs.
It's also worth mentioning that we have our own radio station - eleu radio - broadcasting from Bradshaw Station, Eleu. Very nice tunes to fly with.

@Cula-Ta will PM you later for a more detailed description. That one is not really up-to date. ;)

I was ready to support SEPP, but reading the following gives me a strange vibe of betraying ones ideals:

Social Eleu Progressive Party [SEPP]

<snip>
We are to remain free of any PowerPlay, Alliance, Empire or Federation influence.

"No, I don't want to be president! I don't want to be involved with politics!"

"Oh, there is a chance to get president? Sign me up!"

Nice to hear you thought about supporting SEPP Arubeto. :)
Well I can understand how it sounds like when a group first wants to stay out of PP and then tries to become a Power itself. I think we are not the only player faction with that kind of dilemma but it's not like we betray or ideals here. ;)

Well first of all that synopsis is horribly outdated and out of context. It was taken from our forum threat without asking beforehand. No big deal, since we said what we said but just to make sure it's no statement to the Dangerous Games.

Back to topic: Our main goal is to establish a safe haven for explorers returning to the bubble. That means that we try to fight anarchy (pirate) minor factions, raise security if possible, anything to make the PvE enviroment safe.
Of course there are also explorers that might be on bad terms with the federation/alliance/empire and those who are pledged to a power. But since we are neutral and want to provide a safe place for everyone seeking for knowledge we established that guidline - that we want to be free of any PP and major faction influence.

In fact, our inital answer when asked about becoming a power ourselves long before the dangerous games was "no, we don't want that" but another goal of us is to support fellow explorers in their big quests. So we kept thinking.
And then we came up with the idea to create some PP boni for explorers if our faction would rise. Of course the devs have the last word here and we ourselves are still in the process of brainstorming but that's one of our main reasons for becoming a power: boni for explorers. Also the event itself will be a lot of fun and I am pumped! :D

One more thing to add is that the new PP faction might, as much as we know (and we don't know much more than everyone else) be separated from SEPP itself. Meaning that our faction and the safe, PP free space we provide would remain but the new PP Faction would rise somewhere else, meaning our two goals won't collide much with each other.

There is still a lot of talking and thinking to do and we will come up with a more detailed statement to that subject later. But that's what I personally can tell you atm. My point of view. ;)

It seems to me that each of the 5 groups listed are all great candidates for a new power. Some of you I had not heard of until now, but that's on me and not a reflection of what you have achieved. I really hope the community gets behind them all and make the upcoming games something to remember for all the right reasons. I've read some truly poisonous threads on Reddit (obviously people on there are incapable of being civil, it seems - not a place I will be returning to) about how some players are planning on going all out to spoil things. That sort of thing makes me ashamed to be a part of the same race and want to defect over to the thargoids (you don't see them fracking each other over for a god damn percentage). Anyway, good luck to all and let's hope this gives PP the much needed boost we've been waiting for (because it kinda sucks Reddit levels as it stands)

Interesting little infographics regarding player strength/size.

Note: Most of this information is pooled from INARA, so shouldn't be taken as definitive.

With exactly the same data set I could probably show the exact opposite information. Statistics are the devil's mathematics (which is why they are used by politicians so often). That said, it does look rather interesting for Galcop and thanks for giving something to chew over

Please don't post charts like this becouse most pilots from BC factions don't have accounts on inara... You give fake info about BC.

By all means if you genuinely think it's 'fake information' for me to say that in based on the numbers taken from INARA one faction is bigger than the rest, when the numbers are clear and the caveat was explained, by all means report it to a moderator to be taken down under forum rules.

However for the rest of us on the outside looking in, who have no horse in this race beyond being interested in your space politicking, these numbers make for an interesting at a glance piece of info.
