Last time I tried to get cinematic with the mail slot, I was rammed by an angry Adder, like a mosquito trying to violently reach me inside my car, not realizing what glass is.
That was a fluke. I'm no KubrickPretty good. The clipping through the mailslot threw me off but the angle of your ship with that ELW was beautiful.
Kubrick is a particularly imaginitive filmmaker-man.
Plus he was the filmaker that used the music 'The Blue Danube', which is used in Elite when docking. His famous space shuttle docking scene came complete with a docking mailbox slot and matching rotation with the station, all the time with The Blue Danube playing in the background. Amazing film! David Braben and Ian Bell were obviously fans of the film too. Was, sadly :-(
2001. One of the best, and most unique, films of the 20th century.
And arguably singlehandedly responsible for popularising the angry abusive drill-sergeant in movies too (full metal jacket). Two films that absolutely should be seen by everyone.
