And arguably singlehandedly responsible for popularising the angry abusive drill-sergeant in movies too (full metal jacket). Two films that absolutely should be seen by everyone.

Plus he was the filmaker that used the music 'The Blue Danube', which is used in Elite when docking. His famous space shuttle docking scene came complete with a docking mailbox slot and matching rotation with the station, all the time with The Blue Danube playing in the background. Amazing film! David Braben and Ian Bell were obviously fans of the film too.

I woke up with a cough at 4am this morning and did another couple of undockings. The ELW was in exactly the right place again
