But you can't see that someone exiting the game via a provided in-game method is also not breaking any rules? Mind boggling.
1) Anyone closing a game using the game menu is not logging, they are just leaving their session.
2) Combat is by definition consensual. If one party does not want to fight then it is just aggression, not combat.
3) Piracy can never be combat (see 2 above) unless the intended victim has deliberately lured the pirate with the intention of destroying him - where in ED the pirate will invariably log off as they are not looking for combat - just mugging. This is also OK.
The easiest fix, and the most effective would be for people to just get over it. It's just as easy to say: "No biggie it's just a game", on either side of the argument. It's nothing more than getting a crappy RNG roll. You rolled up a quitter. Whatever.
