Because losing connection right before they're about to see a 30mil rebuy or after their powerplant is gone is more than just bad luck or coincidence IMO

At least it happening consistantly is.Because losing connection right before they're about to see a 30mil rebuy or after their powerplant is gone is more than just bad luck or coincidence IMO
I wonder if that is why there is no punishment for logging. Cause it could be hard to prove. However the only times I have crashed was when I exited out of hyperspace. If that person had a sudden power outage where they lived, and you had no way of knowing, would you still report them for combat logging? just saying.
Very trueThis fascination of reporting random players for logging only leads me to believe that folks really need to get out more![]()
Negative player reviews yes, reports no. Reports only work if the reporter and reported player were in the same game or connected somehow. If they werent its assumed as a false report, which achieves nothing other than lessening the priority for review of your future reports.
Cheating is cheating. Developer determines the nature, and FDev have stated it's against the rules.
Did they? When? Dont confuse 'spirit of the game' with 'rules of the game'.
i would like to think it gets acted upon however i believe it gets documented and filed in a stringently audited method

I claim to be the expert on so many things, female sexuality, piracy etc. but I don't think expert on whatever happens to players I report after I report them is one of them.
Don't know if the xbox version is as buggy as the PC but as often as my video drivers crap out forcing me to restart (alot of times during combat) how is FD to know what really happened?

Whether false reports get filtered or not, its a pretty scummy thing to do. Especially over something so trivial. It just seems small and petty.
Besides that, a false reporter (or friend multi-reporter as it were) is worse than a logger. You IMMEDIATELY lose any moral high you might have had while complaining about a logger
Carve a notch for each logger you encounter & wear with pride. I mean if you're pirating you're not desperate for the cash anyway right? Unless you're going 100% career that is, in which case I feel for ya.I wouldn't be doing it if Frontier gave some of the potential cash one could get out of a logger to the pirate but that ain't happening either.
So, I should also stop reporting hackers because it's ''trivial''? Will I also be called ''small and petty'' for that?
I agree it's somewhat scummy thing to do I've said it before but I've had it with the way Frontier seem to be handeling it. .

You should ABSOLUTELY report EVERY hacker you come across. But chances are you have never encountered a hacker on XB1.
A plug puller isnt a hacker. And No, i dont feel you should report someone for that. But that is your choice. Not mine.
No matter how silly (or other choice words) i think it is, it is technically your right because "rules blah blah blah............."
But getting outsiders involved to file false complaints? At that point YOU become the rule breaker dont you? I mean, If not technically, certainly in principal. Right?
The ToS is pretty broad but im sure there is some language in there about "ganging up on" or "harassing players beyond the confines of a game". Maybe even something about filing false reports? Even if there isnt, acting in that manner destroys your moral high horse in the logger discussion.
And "they cheated first" doesnt excuse anything either. That is just analogous to "he stepped on my toe so me and my 47 friends took turns beating him with a rusty pipe wrench"
The level of escalation there is ridiculous dont you think? He ran. Left. Unplugged. And you get a dozen people to file complaints? Is any of this making sense to you?
There's always npc's, they don't log. They also rarely know what's good to haul sadly. Course you know all that.. Though I have made >20mil from one npc beforeI want it to do it 100% but simply can't.

Anyway back OT there's no reason *in principal* that frontier can't simply collect the play stats and run reports / algo to figure out who's consistently clogging & take whatever they think is the appropriate action. Player reports shouldn't be needed. Up to them whether they're bothered though.
Yeah same as the bounty hunting game, agreed. Just requires slightly more finness. I find it kinda relaxing personally, a brilliant contrast to the often heart-thumping times pulling real cmdrs over. The NPC pirating is so barebone. No interaction nothing just pew pew powerplant and a couple of hatch breakers.

Maybe consistent clogging should be rewarded with some kind of in-game penalty? Like a loss of faction rep across the board, the more you clog the more it drops you.
