Same here,I cant play the non beta version for long, it seems almost like a diffirent game.

And the same here. Since the beta started I've only played 2.0 once and that was because my son wanted to play. I can't get motivated to play 2.0 even though I'm making no "progress" - there are just so many things in 2.1 that make the game better. Apart from Module Casino and a few odd UI design choices I really think 2.1 is the best content update so far (sure, 2.0 brought us planets so was the biggest technical addition but 2.1 brings more to the game itself).

And I also like the way FD are handling the beta. Based on the timings surrounding the Dangerous Games, it looks like the beta will be lasting another 2.5+ weeks at least so it looks like they are keen to address all significant bugs and sort out balance issues before live release. I personally hope they don't let any mission-related bugs slip through as it's such a core part of the game and if they did it would be a real shame especially after what happened with 2.0/1.5.
 
2.1 live date revealed?

Could 2.1 be going live Wednesday 1st June? The Dangerous Games - Wildcard Games is aiming to start on Thursday 2nd June and was always intended to start once the beta had ended. Perhaps it will even go live Tuesday 31st May* as FD like to release on Tuesdays.

*I know originally FD said that 2.1 would be delayed until June but perhaps a) the reasons were indeed purely financial as others have previously mentioned and/or b) perhaps 2.1 development has gone better than expected

the missions are still a bit of a mess, there are #$missiontarget$# bits popping up all over the place and I fail to see where it says why I am doing a mission and what effect it will have
get some tea because I want you to get some tea is a far cry from "we need you to acquire some weapons so we can invade so and so" or whatever. The icerings are really really bugged
and need some serious looking at. The shipyard menu is messed up. Paint not working. I fail to see the increased traffic but that could just be me.
What is worse is that none of the most glaring things wrong are being discussed in the beta forum....like people are playing but not so much beta testing.

Really wish Frontier would employ some professionals for this stage. But hey on the bright side.....if this beta drags on a little while longer we will receive the 2.2 not long after.

If PowerPlayer was designed by someone who loves board games, then the Crafting UI for Engineers was designed by someone who luuurves casino games...

Sadly I am not a fan of it feeling like I am gambling (rather than having an "Engineer" build & test something for me). I'd MUCH rather see wide "measurement error bars" (the starting ranges), and then see them gradually reduce as the "Engineer" measures & tests what he's built. The end-result would be the same (RNG), but the experience would be completely different.

If I get a great roll, it can be ruined by a special effect I don't want? Is that how it is being tweaked? Really?

Like if I'm trying to optimize for range, get a good roll and then get slapped with Concordant, when I have no intention of healing anyone but have to take the heat increase anyway...hmpf, no like

Honestly, all the other abilities are fine, in most all cases...I just want the ability to reject concordant without losing a great roll on the other stats.

Exactly what I thought reading the patch notes, augmenting the chance to get a special when we have a great roll makes the situation worst IMO. At least allow us to ask for a module without any special if you really need to keep the effect itself completely random.

That being said...excellent update, love how hard you folks work and it really shows!
+1, 2.1 is great in all other aspects.
 
Vive feedback: Text is MUCH more readable now with less aliasing artifacts. The game looks amazing in the Vive now. Tested with and without SteamVR running first.
 
Very good work! I am happy to test the new Beta 5 :) many fixes and thank you for the costumized HuD Color changes to the Avatar!

Thanks for fixing the lights of "my" Cobra mk3 ;) in a workshop it would cost to much for me

The more often I see your pseudo-double posts the more I start to believe that this was probably the initial intention. :p I slowly start to grasp who those "us" that you constantly refer to actually are... Do yourself and (the other) "us" a favor and stay true to your words. :|

I don't think anyone has managed to find this elusive VR setting so far... so i'm guessing it's somewhere in a config file? Devs, any pointers for us please? Thanks....

I'm cool with the RNG aspect, as long as they bring the randomness down a little more... other than that, it's cool that we're all gonna be flying slightly different builds, differing speeds, weapons..
It's gonna make for a way more interesting game.

And sure, if you really must have the absolute best possible mod upgrades, then roll and roll again and roll again and roll again and enjoy that eh.. i rolled once in Beta for all of my FDL module upgrades and it rocks. It may not be the absolute best FDL out there, but i'm cool with that. And it's performed well against others so far....
