I think a whole season dedicated to the civilization of Thargoids. Michael had declared that Frontier want to make something ambitious, about Thargoids

- Thargoids will be placed in the BLEIA system on the other side of the core.
- The station that was sent to Begle point will have issues, then be destroyed by Thargoids/other
- Frontier will have some CG around it possible to get people to go out there.
- Sirius corp will recreate the ship that died with its experimental FSD for very long range jumping, or utilise the Jump Portals that the Capital Ships use, or another lore based event.
- President will get exporation data, notice something not right, new event will occur
- Encounters with Thargoids possible then
- Forum complain that Thargoids too hard to beat and should be 1v1-able
- Thargoids nerfed, easily soloable.
- Game looses all challenge
- Players quit as no challenge.

I'm expecting Thargoids to be hostile to fed/impies but open to treaties with the alliance, but the Thargoids will be a dying race thanks to the virus of first encounters, but they will sell us some tech and a warning.

The problem is that the Trargoids will most probably not pose a threat. They will be as as npc's because people will moan about getting shot by them and threat to leave the game because they are losing "progress".
So what do you expect if the community cried to nerf the npc's again in 2.1 because they could not farm them.
Until the community changes we won't get anything good or really dangerous.

To be honest, I don't expect that Thargoids or possible other alien race (which I would prefer to see because Thargoid theme has already been beaten to death and back in previous Elites) would serve as something else than another type of slightly different NPCs to farm for mats or credits. That's the easiest approach regarding the gameplay, and we know that FDEV tends to choose such solutions.
Lore-wise, I suppose that the devs might come up with something nice for RP'ers.

I think, and hope, that that's the plan.
Anyway, i don't expect them to be necessarily hostile.. however players will make them hostile anyway.

I hope that alien life (Thargoid or otherwise) will add a bit of mystery to the game and strange new things to see.
I hope that Thargoids will be more than just singleminded, evil, aggressive, bad guys.
I hope that I might be able to develop a positive relationship with some of them, get missions out of them, get access to their aliens space stations and in general get access to at least some of their starsystems.
There might even be factions within the Thargoid race. Some of them could be reasonably friendly, others more belligerent.
I am incredibly curious about their ships and stations. I hope FD made them into something awesome and intimidating with lots of cool detail.

They should definitely not be announced in news letters or be something we have to beta test. id like it to be like the old days. im doing pretty good at this game i know everything done every thing. Holy space balls what just happen? where am i? whats going on its 2am and some type of ship i didn't know existed just turned up and a little bit of poo just came out. oh im dead what, what happened?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
