One of the boarding mechanics as well to be added, are the Ship Derelicts, as shown on the multi-crew demo on last Gamescon: (4:50)

Requires several mechanics to make that happen, hope the derelict ships make it to the game soon as well, finding them, EVA into them, enable power, gravity, etc... It's one more type of gameplay that surronds boarding, side of the Ship > Ship Boarding,

Based on your opinion it'll never happen you mean. It's not just words, go check the Piping Videos and see the mechanics in action and how they are testing them, it looks really cool for me and it's exactly what i am expecting gameplay-wise when it comes to breaching into both a space-station, and one enemy ship, adds one level of strategy as well in how you can approach it differently, that is very interesting. If for you it's all crap, horrible and terrible (remember it's SC so all has to be bad and awful :) ), it's up to you.

None of which is implemented, it's just another pile of RSI marketing. It's not fact it's just an advertising claim by a company with a dubious record of honesty.

Believe it at your own peril, and don't expect an easy refund when it proves to be rubbish. Now that's a pair of verifiable facts.

That is again, your opinion, not an fact. I wouldn't track any refund either replying your 2nd sentence. The Fast forward as a recent segment, already shown quite a lot of the works actively ongoing, either it is AI, Assumption / FPS AI, Piping System, etc... etc...

All is marketing, no game progress, no game mechanics being developed, no development at all... nothing... just marketing? Dear lord, if this is just faked game progress marketing, they clearly can do better job to make things look more shiny and pretty, faking it with some makeup over what the developers show.... But okay then!

But it's not marketing though, if it was, the examples that i gave would look good, but they are not looking good, they are displaying mechanic and functionality, if it was for marketing, they could easily put at least some artist work on the footage to make it look way more polished.


On the past, we usually had cinematic trailers, or the scripted demos that CIG released about how is X and Y meant to be. They haven't done this when they shown 2.0 on Gamescon last year, as they played on Crusader (i think it was Crusader), what they shown on gameplay, is what they released, with the exception of some animations and the ship derelict exemplified wasn't all faked marketing. 2.0 released and so we saw it, but of course you would completely ignore this example for the sake of "oh CIG's history! CIG's history! All faked! All Marketing!!!!!".

Isn't that exactly what happened with their first ever demo? I seem to recall CR saying it was all smoke and mirrors as they had to market something :)

The first demos, even the Arccorp landing demo were somehow scripted. The asset work and so on were there, but for example, the technology to seamlessly land on a planet, wasn't there.

The first ever multi-crew demo (2014?), also was, specially on the part the hull breaches, that mechanic wasn't there, they were demoing what they wanted it to be. It's a complete different story than what is shown on the Fast Forwards, that is the mechanic WIP as it is, not a demo of how they want it to be.

I hope that nobody is falling through this fear mongering conspiracies that the developers are somehow paid to lie, on game progress and mechanics being developed that... do not exist neither are being developed. :rolleyes:
It's all a faked conspiracy of epic proportions, on witch 300 employees have guns pointed on their heads to pretend they are developing a game. Must be.

That's just it Max. All we can reliably comment upon is what CIG have actually released. We can speculate upon what might be released in the future. CIG can promise to give us everything everyone ever wanted in their BDSSE, but so far they have provided really very little to show for the time and money.

The constant backtracking and changing their mind on what they want the game to be every five minutes has not helped anything. They really need to concentrate on delivering - not faff about as they have done so for the last few years.
 
The thing is Max your continued attempts to prove detracting opinions wrong are futile at best and possibly actually counter productive at worst.

When someone makes a funny or has an opinion based dig at the project and the senior staff in particular by trying to counter it each time all you are doing is encouraging the poster in question to double down - several times in many cases and encouraging others who feel the same way as the poster to dogpile on.

You're not changing anyone's mind any more than the poster your challenging is changing minds - all the regulars have made probably their minds up, and anyone new looking in probably isn't likely to be swayed by one or two voices of disagreement when the evidence supporting the prevailing opinions are in plain sight for all to see - in my opinion!

You're just turning one negative comment/joke/observation that might otherwise slip past unnoticed into 20 that won't be so easily ignored.

How much time did it take to progress from the presentation on Gamescom (I think, the one with quantum drive travel to a Retaliator) to stable SC 2.0 alpha with less than 130+ crashes in a single Twitch stream? Belief that those concept demos and CryEngine editor footage show features that are almost ready to include into alpha is as preposterous as believing in claims of BDSSE.
 
An actual journalist needs to ask CR what the "minimum viable product" actually is. That should provoke an amusing cascade of um err ah. Or he should tell the backers just because he said he would treat them like publishers... and they would certainly be aware of what a MVP is and pushing hard to make milestones on one.

"We, the Developer, intend to treat you with the same respect we would give a publisher."

Thing is, this thread is not about me (though some people LOVE to make things personal). Now allow me to not give a flying rats about your observations about me.

The 2.1 Update had the biggest impact on stabilization of the 2.0 release when it comes to major issues. Performance, being tied to netcode here, is still for me the biggest annoying issue, but that one ain't going to get any bandage fix until they're done with the netcode serialization.

CIG did mention getting UKTI's help in structuring the business in the UK, with maximizing tax credits being one of the goals, so they're probably profiting from having things they way they are.

That link is interesting. 160 employees and £15M investment bust the exemption requirements, so at some point full accounts are needed. I don't know how many employees it had on average in 2015 but depending on the build-up they may be required for the period to 31 December 2015. Likewise, as you say if HMRC advised on the structure there must be some logic to it. How quaint that a tax authority helps you minimise your tax burden.
