Reset your save and try the new player experience.
Finally the bounty farmers have a real chance to became bounty hunters!
Well, at least you gave it a good try of 1 or 2 hours. More than enough time to judge a huge release like 2.1.
(Yes, sarcasm)
But the new system is so great and fun!
It really wouldn't be an Everquest worthy grind!
If you think this game has been "smooth runnings" I just don't know what to say.For the better as the sane majority clearly states - however smooth runnings have never kept away the prophets of impending doom. We point at them with our fingers and laugh....
From my point of view, as as casual gamer who doesn't play the game every day, or even every week for that matter, this update has very probably ruined the game for me. Grinding HazRes sites to earn credit for upgrades and new ships was just about feasible before. Now I don't appear to be able to show my face there or even in High Res areas with out getting killed. I'm not one of those players that have accumulated billions of credits so I can't afford that sort of risk. I can survive in Low Res areas, but the return for bounty hunting in those areas is so low that it becomes even more of a grind than it was before and becomes pointless. It's great that some people are enjoying the extra challenge, but there are those of us out there that don't want or need it. Why can't the game have difficulty options (in PvE) so that everyone can enjoy it regardless of how many hours they've played and the ship, components and upgrades they have? I was about to buy the Horizons pass, but I think I'll wait and see now. I couldn't recommend the game to anyone in its current state, so I fear Frontier may have made a big mistake here...
Ah, we are at the "the game will die!" stage again. It should have died about 6 times now the past 2 Years according to the Internet and the pesky little thing is still going strong.
Having Elite AI play like players is not a problem.
I think the problem is that the low combat rank AI is too strong.
It seems like every AI is a master of FA off and that they keep 4 pips to ENG at all times. The AI manueverability was forcing me to fly in PVE how I fly in PvP. I can easily see why a lot of people think it's too hard.
I guess it's up to FD to figure out whether the AI is forcing players to learn new combat tactics (a good thing) or if the AI is forcing players to avoid combat altogether (a bad thing).
I can't, but what we have are financial results who so far since ED has been released and people called doom again and again always looked very good. How strong? Can you tell me how many EDH upgrades did they sell to base game players, and how does the PCU numbers look like?
steam is incomplete information, wait at least for the company to actualy have bad numbers before call it dead.Strong ? At least on Steam charts, it seems that your definition of "strong" is quite different from mine.![]()

Gonna have to run bigger shields and actually manage pips now. Oh noes. Here is my issue:
Elite players (no pun intended...ok maybe there was) shouldn't be catered to at the expense of everyone else.
People keep talking about a "never lose" attitude. OK, fine. But I feel like NPCs are just about "never win" at this point. I've been interdicted 4 times so far (I'm in a trading Anaconda):
1. Anaconda interdicted me. Tried to high wake. Shields gone before I could even select a system. FSD was gone before it was done charging. Destroyed.
2. Dropship interdicted me. Failed interdiction before I could submit. Thrusters/FSD destroyed before the cooldown was complete.
3. Viper interdicted me. Got away relatively unscathed, but still took away a whole ring of shields before jumping out, and that was with properly submitting.
4. Gunship interdicted me. Able to submit, but shields were basically gone before I could jump.
I'd hate to know what people flying ships less beefier than an Anaconda are having to deal with. I couldn't imagine flying around in a ship actually meant for trading like a T7 or T9 now. It'd have to be a tank, which makes them worthless as ships. As someone who spends most of my time hauling PP merits, this is obviously rather problematic. I actually haven't been interdicted by a PP ship, but by pirates (who for some reason want my merit papers?).
I think upgrading the systems on my conda is going to be a minimal must. I'll probably survive, but given interdictions that are (still) virtually unwinnable and now ships that rip anacondas up as if they are sidewinders, playing this game has gone from fun (or maybe monotonous with transporting merits) to just plain stressful.

Well I never played Golf. Also I don't play Games to pay the mortgage... (Tipp: the credits in Elite are not interchangable with any RL currency)

You've constructed your own reality.
Remember when the max bounty was 1000 CR? Vultures were 25M and FDLs were 100M? And the grind for non-traders to any of these ships was years or months?
