All I can say is now when I get interdicted by a NPC it feels like it should. It instills a feeling of dread, am I gonna make it or not. Before all it did was make me think why is this AI wasting my time and slowing me down.

Before you could take someone that never played the game. tell them how the ccontrols work and in the right ship they could take out an elite npc as easy as a harmless one. Now its not just the ship, it requires a thing called skill. But don't worry there has been some breaking news that should help those affected by this sudden turn of events.

A feature has been added called wings, where you can team up with other people and work together to make it through the universe

THANK YOU FD you finally closed the farming exploit in solo

Some of us pay mortgages by spending a large portion of the day at work, with (for me especially) tiring and draining occupations.

You don't say. Thats why I must get paid at work.

ED is recreation! It will always be recreation, and definitely not a second job

And thats exactly why I am not interested in payouts. You don't make sense here.

In your link, it is a state of company in November 2015. Active player base is going down since those times to maybe 1/3 or 1/4, at least on Steam, according the link I posted couple of messages ago.
Again, steam is incomplete information. They may still going down, player population on every game goes down over time here and there, but that doesn't have to say much about how succseful it is.

after an run with an dangerous vulture in my A fitted clipper "the imp cargo ship". it handed my clipper to me in just 2 passes. i feel sorry for anyone that flys an T6,7,9 keelback.
but back on topic after getting my clipper handed to me i went about selling all my cargo ships looks like it going to be combat ships acting as 2/4 ton cargo ships. RIP traders

Why didn't you run? Clipper is far faster then any Vulture... (I managed to run from a Vulture with my lumbering Python)

I love the increase in the AI's Inteligence but it seems as though the ships themselves received buffs as it took my FDL with 5 pulse lazers an unsettleing amount of direct hits to down a simple eagle but maybe it's not as it seems, i may need to fight something a bit bigger to notice a difference.

Then fight the ionterdiction - I am far from an expert (bc I mostly used to submit and collect the bounty ) but I had 3 successfull evasions out of 5 ( all Elite NPCs ) - the two times I wasn't successfull one of them I submitted and run and won the next interdiuction by the same guy and the other the police jumped in and fried him.

I will admit that the proliferation of Elite NPCs seems a bit over the top (I am dangerous myself and yet I only get interdicted by Elites) - I will have to play more to a larege enough sample size though.

I gave up playing the "evade the interdiction" minigame many months ago and have no intention of getting in there again. Once today the "submitting" didn't work and resulted in an "Interdicted FSD Failure" - bang, shields gone, bang thermal attack, etc - by the time I had boosted, chaffed, viffed and the fsd had cooled I high-waked with 14% hull. If I hadn't a bookmark to quickly lock on to I would have been fried - thanks to the devs for the bookmarks (can you fix the rest of the Galaxy Map please). So loosing the minigame could be the difference between frying and flying.

Which is totally not suggesting they should be easier?!?

What's your combat rank btw, and do you have military rank or PP allegiance? Just considering factors in the level of hassle you recieve

I have no issues with the AI becoming better, nobody wants the kebab NPCs back, there are just two issues in my opinion - scaling / balancing of rankings and the preponderance of modded weapons and systems on NPCs. I had an encounter with an Elite Viper that interdicted my non-modded Asp - I had it down to 15% hull while mine was at about 30 I think but it high-waked when the feds showed up, so I am not saying that the combat ability is too strong. However, Lord knows how non-Horizons players are going to progress very far.

BTW that secondary account (I am keeping my main account commander in the hangar till things settle down) commander is Master rated, Elite Trader and Pathfinder - it is Admiral and Duke and has never had any power-pants involvement. (I did say I was a trader.) The Aux Navy ranks should have no bearing on NPC matchmaking whatsoever. (BTW MY other Commander is Deadly but I don't think I'll be completing the remaining 40% to Elite EVER.)

The AI is all fine and dandy, as long as you are in a combat ready ship. Flying a miner, trader or explorer ? Living hell, even A rated. My new patron is Sir Robin, and that will stay so for a while, while I grind to upgrade my ships.

And finally to all of you high level players trolling the get good comment here. Just consider the fact that without continued new CASUAL players joining you, the game you love WILL end.
.

dont worry, I bought several copies for my friend, and Ill buy one more to cover your absence. You are now free of sny responsibility to keep FD as a company working.

You'll never rest. You know the grind to get back to where you were would be terrible and unfun.
I've reset one of my accounts three times. It was great fun.
You're just trying to collapse the path behind you so you can look down on new players.
No, I team up with new players, show them a few things and help them get experience and a few credits under their belts.

If you define having a pretty good chance of getting destroyed whenever you get interdicted as fun, sure. I don't.

Because reducing the profits/hour is going to make trading so much more fun!

Probably about that far. Not bad against an Elite modded pilot, what's the worry?

Though I do agree there are probably more mods out there than make sense according to the lore they've put up around the engineers.

A master rated trader is never going to be treated as just a trader.

I'd hope navy rank *does* make a difference - navy life isn't all peeling potatoes and donation missions - high ranked navy folk should be hard as nails don't you think, or it would be a bit odd?

It does feel that Elite has become more combat orientated. An unarmed trader with minimal attack and defenses has no chance but to lose alot of money. Trading feels less fun and less incentive.

If all you see in ED is profit/hour, then I am afraid nothing will improve that case further down the road.

*scratches head* Why would you even fly such a thing in the first place?!?
