Engineers Increased Range FSD

Anyone else notice that the maximum benefit from a grade 5 FSD is now 45% rather than the 25% it was in beta?

That could make some pretty far-reaching ships.

Do we need to roll dice twice to get this update ?

You going to troll in every thread here with your dice roll s**t?

Oh really!!! That's awesome, man I got to get back to inhabited space and get that.

When I first saw 25% extra fsd in beta I was a bit disappointed, but 45% is fantastic :D, thanks FD

Apparently I am alone in thinking this level of disparity is undesirable. :(

Disparity? Humm what?
Thats literally no extra fuel, scanners, weapons or anything, lowest power, distributor and all. Oh and 100% FSD boosting materials for jumponium.

Stock at 60Ly its still borderline excessive but I can live with it, any more and I'll have my pitchfork out, I do agree ~6 hours buckyball to Sag A* seems low but again barebones ship..

I was just referring to the difference between a laden Cutter @ 23.39 (trade), a A-fit Corvette @ 15.89 (combat), and a stripped out Anaconda @ 55.19 (exploration) with a hypothetical +45% boost over stock. Careers allegedly being balanced and all. I'm not saying they should be the same, just more similar. Range is a crappy way to allegedly balance ships by wasting the player's time.

Anyway, never mind the broken record. +45% is definitely better than +25%, so there is that.

Ah right I misunderstood. Not to get on a side-topic but the whole FSD range and balance thing is a debate recently being had over here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=253420&highlight=range+balance
I posted once or twice with the base assumption that if you strip Elite back the only currency is time. More in that thread there, even a developer response.

So people brought up the point that exploration ships need to be combat ready now. Apparently FD have some "winter is coming" stuff coming where we might need combat focused long distance ships.

Imagine bringing a full load of Jaques's beer to the bubble from the Beagle Point...

An expedition worthy of tales and legends to be sure.

Seems like quite a lot to me. Which ships? Perhaps lower range ships can be upgraded more?

If only... [sad]

Apparently it's the tier five FSD range mod available for all classes of FSD. I'm not in-game at the moment, so I can't confirm.
