Things like this wont be an issue in a few weeks when people have their powerplant modded with a the armored mod.
how will i do that when i cant risk dumping something for srv and i cannot go mining? do mats from those magically appear in mhy hold one day? if i dump something from my ship for srv i will die quicker, with no lucky police rescue. if i go mining i cant defend myself at all and still cant escape from some of those modded npcs. so rebuy rebuy and i have nothing left but basic winder. oh yes i can still mine with that oops no money no mining laseer. no srv either. no mats. no point. still getting same enemies but now not able to equip a winder out to live., because less chance once you are back in one with same combat rank. and im not grinding again from there and im not wiping save to avoid npcs when in a few months i will be right back with them in same trouble.

in a previous post you said 9 second to high wake out. in my master viper npc encounter i did not have those 9 seconds with the FSD yoyo between online and offline. cant charge when its offline.

What can I say? I have no doubt you are correct but I just like the IV. It may be an 'old person thing' but I do. But if I can't survive in it without running around in circles doing things for stuff I don't really want, just to give it a chance then I won't bother. To me it looks like all ships will need to be 'magically' buffed , just to survive. I am locked in with the LEP, so I will watch and wait to see what develops and hope I didn't waste my money.
Don't get me wrong, I like the ship too. But it always was rubbish in combat, which is more a problem then the NPC difficulty :D

For one, your FSD doesnt go offline every time you get attacked. Many factors involved.

For the first part of your post...seems you are having a problem of adjusting...
Why not scout areas for mining that have a very low npc population...and be ready to scoot.
Seems the game will spawn npcs if you stay at a spot too long...I havent mined much...but what I recalled about it, was I stayed npc free if I stayed out of the rez and moved constantly.

But it would also seem like a challenge to find the things that work in 2.1
The update hasnt been out but a day or so...there is plenty of time to try and find what works.
perhaps what worked in 2.0 will not work in 2.1 for mining...but thats life...change happens...we either adapt or dont.

1: Isn't this more a function that, you know, npc's are everywhere, they do not need to know if or if not where and how you are wanted? and I have yet to be interdicted by an npc because of a bounty elsewhere so, I'd have to ask how this was found out?

2: True, but also depending on situation, you can never be ready for everything, but weapons especially turrets with the fix to their damage, can do enough harm for non combatants to get away, or use mines or similar, defensive weaponry isn't that bad. The days of non armed traders could very well be at an end, arm yourself for escaping, not winning, shock mines, whatnot disruptive stuff that slows down attackers and let you run away?

3: I have not experienced npc's being healed, I've waked after several of them, and been hunted by several, sure it was the same npc? if so it would sound like a bug more then anything else.

There's always reaching out and helping each other in open or private group, right? Solo players always knew they were going to have a tough row to hoe...

..and you lose forum opinion points for declaring NPC's griefers...

No offence, but by the tone and general attitude I wouldn't trust any on here not to turn around and blast you once your back was turned in any private group or open! I's rather just call it a day tbh.

I agree. It's, underwhelming shall we say. If I go on the offensive I would probably use a Vulture, or a Corvette perhaps. But I can't see the point if I know, that without serious modding, I won't stand a chance.

Alright, I know I am about to swallow a big gulp of pride here, but after stepping away from the game for a day, and getting a good night's sleep, I have since softened my opinion on the changes. I know, I know. I was raging like a fool yesterday, being in complete shock at the difficulties I was facing. Now, I have since changed a few things about my gameplay. First, I left my power. After about an hour of play, I stopped getting interdicted quite as much. Second, I went back to my home system with my cobra, and it's a hi-sec system. I decided to play it safe and see if I can earn a few bounties at the nav point. There's a good amount of security there, and if I pick my battles wisely, and be careful not to accidently      off the cops, I should be fine. Well, I did okay. My combat rank is competent now. I only went after higher ranked ships that were previously engaged, and I just popped my lasers at them here and there, just enough to earn a bounty. I did solo a few diamondbacks that were close to my level, maybe a little higher, and I did alright with those, no damage to my ship. Pretty easy. Within I'd say about 45 minutes, I racked up 200k in bounties. Not too bad, better than I thought.

Then I decided to run some hauling missions, and some of those were in medium-sec space. I was a little nervous, because I didn't know if I was going to get interdicted or not, but I had plenty for a rebuy if the worst happened. Well, I did several missions and racked up another 600 k in a fairly short time. Without incident.

So in conclusion, based on my experience this morning, it's not as bad as it seems. I picked my battles wisely, I am not pledged to a power anymore, and in medium and high-sec space, I did ok. Later, when I am in a vulture, I will try some more combat missions and see what happens, but for now, I am content to plod along at this new slower pace. Trying not to get my ass shot off. Sorry if I was being a total freak yesterday, and to all those "get gud"      -bags, not sorry. You still are elitist snobs as far as I am concerned. But to those who showed respect and offered friendly advice in spite of my rage, thank you.

The problem is this:

Good and challenging AI is a great thing, but bugged NPC's that can do what happens in that video? THAT's a bug, and a problem, and it needs to be fixed ASAP.

I don't know if this has been posted in this thread yet but

See that blue streak? Those are railgun shots, not some sort of upgraded beam laser.

AI may be better now but it still blatantly cheats.

What would you call it if it were high-ranking players one-shotting newcomers for no other reason than watching them suffer? At least make them cannibals or something in the back story, so I don't feel I am playing in a universe which is primarily dangerous because it is filled with bored teenagers. :)

Because XCom suffers for its hard as hell reputation.

Difference though, is that in xcom enemies match your progression.

Elite mutons don't randomly show up when you just unlocked laser weapons for example, it's a fair kind of hard that usually does match your equipment.

At the end of such a very busy week all I wanted was to play peacefully doing courier missions, what I get? interdictions and insanely modded ships taking over, then I say "Woah that's right I have not had a fight in a long time, let me go to this RES and get to know the new AI, and get decent combat skills again" After losing 12 millions in insurance I had to go back with a diamondback, trying to avoid as much combat as possible well guess what, interdiction "minigame" certainly shows less bugs but it still have problems, now, even if its a sidewinder I'm dead, there goes all the time I invest in trying to get the imperial rank to even get a courier, plus the minutes now it takes to load the mission board, the time to achieve that rank has just been multiplied by 5, and so far the players I've seen actually happy about the AI upgrade they tell their stories in their Anacondas and Corvettes when a lot of players are relatively new to this universe and as me were never and weren't trying to engage in combat now certainly have a lot to learn and still would take them 15 minutes to kill a single ship when they can kill you in under a minute (what I saw of a clearly experienced combat CMDR in a sidewinder, and a Python being attacked by a vulture, respectively) you know I was never and didn't want to engage in combat yet that just yesterday I learned that the blue range of speed gives me more maneuverability woah, but seems like most of the players also stating their disappointment at the new AI even know how to properly use FA.

So there goes one long weekend, Playing other games because I really need a break, won't certainly play this weekend, maybe next one, my friends already quit so Im sure they are already looking for something to do this weekend, I certainly don't want to leave ED completely because it was the first game to ever fulfill all I wanted in a game, however now it's next to impossible to make credits or to rank up, you have to leave one to do the other and in case of the credits you have to save them only for the times youll get killed when youre doing missions.

However if that continues I may even leave the dream of the Virtual Reality Set, actually I dont know how bad I'd feel if I had bought it before, because ED was the only reason I was going to buy it, however I dont think I can even reach Mercury without being interdicted in the sol system.

In the meantime goodbye, in the long term I hope we can balance the AI to a point where rich, skilled, combat players get to be happy as much as explorers, couriers and traders do.

I'll play again after some more sleep. See what is possible at Nav beacons and remove my power loyalty. Seriously need a better set of thrusters for the cobra IV. The base ones are ass. Everything else is mostly upgraded though.

Not exactly true (at least in the proper games), as after a random length of time that's when the other stuff rolled up.

I still have nightmares from trying to fight Chrysalids with stock battle rifles in a terror zone in the second month of a playthrough.

I'm a constant player, started a bit before horizon, playing delivering stuffs and sometimes bouty hunting, selling ship and buying new one for varieties of missions but never been able to reach more than 15 ish millions. I just play...like I wish to play, testing, hanging around, buying, selling...

Took my federal dropship to deliver a 200K credits reward message from tun to bothega -> interdicted -> submitted -> withing 20 to 30 seconds : Shield 100% 75% 50% 25% shield offline. Hull 100% 75% 50% 25% ....all integrity compromised, Eject

almost reached bankruptcy rebuying ship. 1k left at the bank, had to sell my expensive ship for a cheaper one.

-> bought and fully equipped a transport 6

took my transport 6 to deliver the 84 tons of raw meat from Tun to Herculis. : after 15 jumps -> interdicted -> submitted -> within 10 seconds : Shield 100% 75% 50% 25% shield offline. Hull 100% 50% 25% ....all integrity compromised, Eject.
Another 100K lost, 600k mission failed.

Exited the game -> Unplugged my controller -> right Click ->Uninstall

Man, was it gold? wolverine's adamantium? dr**gs? Highly secrets chipset which will change the face of the world hidden in these tons of raw meat? Was it the prince of pirates looking for revenge because the steakhouse was close at 11pm when he was starving ?
These tons of meat don't even worth the restock of these 6 spamming rockets and thousand bullets he threw at me

Do we need a tank or a Brink's s truck now to deliver meat to a butcher ?
no, really, frontier, do punks and thugs hide rocket launcher under the coat to steal granny's handbag in the street?

No, I don't want to "Git Gud", I don't want to learn how to use flight assist off and be an elite space pilot and I want to tears on forums Because I did not ask for anything and frontier decided otherwise. You want to change something? Besides UI, find something better to do than this grindfest to bring bubble gum from A to B to raise 1% reputation and a bunch of credits hardly earned for overpriced ships and lost everything on a blink of an eye. I want, like probably many casual players, bounty hunt cheap dr**gs dealers and granny handbags thieves or missions that leads me to another one to discover plots or something and leads me from a system to another for a reason (crime scene in a city, finding evidences in abandonned ships in space via distressed signals, false proof, corrupted agent etc etc... to finally chase murderer etc...there is tons to do only with a written scenario instead of random missions)

Keep your raw meet, keep your starving elite pirates and all your self proclaimed so "gud" X-winged starfighters pilots and I'll keep my money and pray for these so proud elitists to spend all of their money in the paint jobs to keep you surviving when casuals will be far from the game, very far.

The easy solution would be to reduce the chance of the AI having modded modules at least until the next update once players are prepared. And get rid of the AIs infinite supply of everything lol
