Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

They can take all the time they need as far as I'm concerned :). I will wait to see how it reviews before buying, but will likely buy at full price if I do get it; I am intrigued, but am not sure how the game plays (I have been avoiding the latest videos where it may have been explained). I get the impression that space and flight is vastly simplified compared to Elite, and the focus is more on survival mechanics and crafting upgrades yourself; this could be great or very bland after a while.

Just cancelled my pre-order and no I'm not moaning or complaining, I'll stick to ED and skip NMS now.

Hope you all enjoy it though!

Does anyone know if GoG purchase can be cancelled once I actually start playing? I preordered yesterday and they have 30 day cancellation period. I am considering cancellation and reordering later.

This is where I stand too.

Personally, I'm thinking NMS will top ELITE for smoothness and polish and pick-up-and-play fun -- it will do a limited number of things extremely well -- but I doubt it will overwhelm me in the same way ELITE does at its very best.

Also, it will probably be something I play for 20 hours and love every minute of rather than something I play for 800 hours and continuously moan about!

I've been exchanging some messages with the reporter and he's taking it with good humor, being an old hand at this kind of adorable internet response by now. Still, what crummy behavior. Say what you will about all the arguing we do in this community, at least when 2.1 was delayed a similar amount of time nobody reacted so abominably!

I hope, anyway.

I'm very disappointed it was again delayed and went as far as cancelling my pre-order but there is simply no excuse for that kind of behaviour.
I find it (if true) utterly despicable and I hope he contacted the police, morons like that really need to understand its not acceptable.

It's truly disgusting something like this would happen. Or it is super entitled people that really think they are on the right of reacting like that, or it is just... for the fun of it. :|

I'm intrigued that the Steam date for NMS remains the same - June 24th at the time of writing - and that Sean's letter went to a PS4 focussed outlet.

I wonder if the delay they've hit has put back the pressing and distribution of the PS4 discs, which you could imagine might have a decent lead-time to find a replacement slot in the production schedule of a 'DVD factory'?

So perhaps a minor hiccup in development has had a disproportionate knock-on for the physical media, whereas, for the internet delivered PC variant, this delay isn't expected (yet) to impact the planned date.

It would amuse me a bit if this is true - as then both XBOX and PS4 users can moan together about being behind the PC for the release of a space-game. #TooSoonToGloat?

What do these people who spout death threats even want? To have the game released on time but full of bugs? And then what, do they issue death threats because the game is buggy? /facepalm

Death threats? Refunds demanded over a delay of a paltry six weeks? Hysteria that the game is in "trouble"?

There is no lowest limit to the depth of stupidity of which some humans are capable.
