So you see many video's on youtube...how heroism they fight.

Scanning for help and after the police attacs then they attack the enemy or wanted.
When you go outside, Trade with goods, explore and you get attaced while driving your SRV on a small moon ( and not the SRV is attaced ) then we will see what you think about the new Updates!

How often did you respond for a distress call in the last view days?
How often do you fight without Assitens?

Cargoships on there run has no Assitens even Explorers.

I went outside and did trade mission and went to Maia and back, so I guess that would be exploring. And maybe the little 700ly round trip from Deciat to Ngurii, then to Khun, then to Wolf 397. I got interdicted, yet I didn't burn to a cinder. But if I can, why would I fight without help? That's what the cops are there for. And I would think my Asp is a cargo ship, yet the cops did show up to help me out if I decided to stay, and I just jumped if something looked too much for my ship to handle. An honestly, after all the warning we got during the countdown to the beta about how we shouldn't go exploring without some kind of protection, if someone puts a shield two sizes too small on an exploration vessel, there's no one else but the player to blame.

And what should they do? Destroy Elite Pyton after one game of playing in Sidewinder or Eagle?
They just need to attack lower skilled ships and take lower paided, easier missions. Thats all. Even kids know that.

How do you think, why this game have 'mixed' review on Steam, not 'Good' or 'Very good'?
Read opinions - people who are making refunds complying on boring game, boring PvE.

Now they will get a challenge, so refunds will be over - because people will get a game what is not boring but may be challenging.

Its still as boring pve wise as before ,exact same stuff, but now you cant even kill the npcs ! Its not a challenge its the most sadistic, grindy, unfair, unfun gaming experience i can remember of, and i game since the 80's.

I am original backer, and tbh if i am offered a full refund for elite and my life time pass, i would just agree, stop posting here, and leave in good term.

And there is the Mining :

You Stay in a secured Mining Area, the Police scanns you every Asteroid you visited, then comes the Assault ship in no scan he is Status wanted.
No he scans your ship for the goods you have, and before you can turn your shield are gone and the ship is destroyed. And the Federal police attacs him to late.

There is nothing you can do...

Cargoships or medium fightships run max 330m/s and they over 400m/s with endless burst firing of plasma canons and Supershields.

For me this is completly overpowered AI and Crafting. You can not get of a car with 50ps more then 1000ps without destroying the engine in the try to start it up

A few things I noticed - I tried reverse shooting against an eagle, it didn't work, it constantly manoeuvred to get behind me which was really pleasing. In the past I could "man-fight" any ship weaker than mine by simply reversing and shooting. No longer possible.

Yes, i managed how to kill small agile fighters in a large ships, even if they are winged.

You just need to have a shoot time window, so if you and your enemy are very closse, you need to BOOST, FA OFF, Throttle ZERO, make pitch turn, in meantime start rotating multicannons on gimballs if you have one, after 180 degress rotation FA ON, throttle full reverse. THen you will get about 2 kilometers shoot window. You can shoot every enemy small agile fighter by this metod. If he will be close, then again boost and you know.

Almost alltime keep 4 pips in shields 0 in ENG and 2 in WEP. In a time of rotating with FA OFF you heed to give 4 PIPS to ENG for a moment to keep ENG capacitor charged for another boost.

The now is totally different gameplay. For me PvE was boring. Now i am feeling as a kid with a new toy. I started enjoying PvE, collecting materials, crafting new modules, winging with people. This is true Elite spirit.
Of course this is the first iteration of the Engineers, there will be some tweaks.

of course i am waiting for new content as multicrew/planetes with atmosphere with living forms, but not all at now. It will be, for now, AI change and Engineers are cool.
I am kickstarted backer, beta and LEP owner.... supercruising cince '84 in first Elite, thorugh Frontier, First Encounters, Privateers, Wings Commanders, X-wings.... my first game I ever played was Star Riders 2 on Atari 65XE when i was 8 years old.
I do not need to buy a Horizon, so i am buying t-shirts, paintjobs. sometimes a game Elite for a friend.

To be honest here, the interdiction rate is not higher than before. (except if signed in powerplay, then it's crazy) and the interdictions are easier to fight off.

I did ~3 hours of rare trading and got interdicted 5 times. That seems to hardly qualify as being interdicted ad nauseam.
But as far as I can tell, interdiction while trading are okay. Mostly happens in anarchy / low sec systems, as should be.

They will adapt to reality indeed, by asking steam for a refund. As soon the new player will leave the station and realize he can do nothing at all, that will be quick.

Not that it matters, but let me tell you a story, from the first BETA days, no lets rewind back to end of Alpha period.

There was a shiny new commander, never been in an Sidewinder before, everything was new, even the smell of new space ship was still in the air. This new commander took his brand new ship out for a spin, getting out of that tiny small slot was not easy, and when he finally was out BOOM!!!

You were killed by
CMDR ITCHYNIBBLES
To your information this new commander saw that screen 10 times before I (he) finally managed to get out alive, the blood was pumping, the body was shaking and THIS new commander learned to NEVER get slow in or out of a space station EVER again.

I can live with that...after I get a refund ^^

Ok you are definitely gunning for not to be taken seriously....

This all sounds fine in theory, but the real question is, is it any fun to play like this? Does the gameplay envisioned for a trader for example involve being interdicted ad nauseam and just following the same high-wake routine each time?

That's one boring game if you ask me.

Fighting the interdiction is a thing you know?

i agree. i dont play elite (or didnt when i could play) for a non combat experience. i have champion jockey for that. no combat at all is same as die every encounter. no fun. the AI would be great for me if not for so many interdictions by npcs above my level rather than random levels and if it was toned down a bit for non combat places like shipping lanes and so on... like no npcs with mods at all interdict you unless you have a mission. non modded interdictions otherwise. and low conflict zones should cater to people with my kind of ship and the other kinds, compromised beacons, hazres anything without the word low should be extremely challenging - too challenging for my general purpose ship to go into and thus give me a reason for struggling on and finish my FAS so long as i am sure i wont get vaped in 3 seconds.

Depends on the target. You can fit weapons to a trade ship without issue, cargo racks don't use a great deal of power. You can then decide whether or not to turn and engage the target head on rather than fitting these silly harmless trade ships.

It's a "trade off", you sacrifice some cargo space, jump range and speed, to be able to defend yourself when the time comes. You needn't even be a great pilot, the T9 has excellent positions for turrets, for example.

I think the gameplay envisioned for a trader doesn't involve plodding around in a defenceless ship maxed out on cargo with no shields. No other profession in the game is expected to do this, so I don't know why traders think that they should be able to.

Wow, I just got back from vacation, so I missed Beta 5 and up....
I must say I love the New AI tactics etc... However, (the Bugs need to be sorted asap)
the rapid fire PA looks cool as hell but do not get hit by it:) I have only been able to play a few hours, but I do like the it (the AI) as for the rest well it looks like we have a bit more grinding to do, and to be honest I'am not sure if it's worth it. I do not mean this in a negative way at all, it's just not what i was hoping for, the "rolling of the dice" for the mods needs to be replaced and give the users more control over the outcome (with trade offs of course).
Quick clip of the FGS and my FAS (note my screw up about 55sec in ... not paying attention and drifted in front of the lower HP's and yep it hurt!).

My take so far is that the AI and its behaviour patterns are probably "fine" for combat-oriented people. For traders, I see a bit of a problem because consequently running away is less of an option now. I count fighting interdictions as running, losing interdictions as running-related gameplay, and submit-and-run as very smelly cheese.

So the scenario: I'm in my mostly A-rated T-6 running water purifiers for the CG. First, a DBS tries to interdict me; I fight it and win (maybe because the interdiction glitch that flips the scene by 90° screws him up worse than me). Great, that sucker is out of the game. Then, an Expert Eagle wants some of my butt; I fight again, things are stressful, and after two major glitches I lose, probably also due to the huge disparity between the ships. So now I'm facing a decision: should I
  1. go into a turning match hoping that the decidedly neutral system fuzz raise beige alert and race to my help (however, I've tried combat in an A-rated Viper Mk4 before and saw some hot stuff from the AI, which would speak against that theory), or
  2. try to outrun an Eagle in what handles more like a sedated penguin?
On second thought, I should probably have gone for the first option, because my decision ended up with me at 24% hull, 24% thrusters (MFW checking module status inside the nearest no-fire zone: :O).

The thing is, nice as having enemies actually worth a thought is, I'm not sure yet if I like them in a not so combat-oriented role with the rest of the game being as it is. I will have to investigate further.

then they need to REMOVE any ship classed as multirole like the asps and diamondbacks so players cannot buy them and are forced to choose fighter or trader. of course that screws all the explorers who cant do that with the pure trader ships - oh and remove all modules choices for traders just sell them a presetup up ship with max cargo and shields and no weapons. fighters of course can choose and buy their loadout. thats what you are basically pushing for.

i fly an asp BECAUSE its set up for PvE, trading and missions and exploring as it was designed for, in the civilian version. i dont fly it to not have ANY combat. it was developed from the MILITARY mk ii asp for god sake! it is SUPPOSED to be able to handle itself. and trade doesnt NOT go on in non-high security systems - who do you think does all that work where the unarmed bulk carriers fear to go? not unarmed hulks. but smaller general purpose ships who are the lifeline of the less secure and even anarchy systems. who can defend themselves and buy time to flee. so no thanks to your idea.

yes a trade python in that situation WILL have to run. but you are too broadly generalising about if you want to do any trade drop any weapons and combat stuff for shields and thrusters and scbs...

MULTIROLE does mean You CAN fit the ship for comat, trade or exploration. Separatelay. Not three in one time.
You cant trade or explore in FDL. This is a strict combat ship, but You CAN fight, trade, explore in ASP or Python, but you need a PROPER BUILD for each activity.

Fighting the interdiction is a thing you know?
actually it isnt. i seen people complain of interdictions that also instantly end before they can try to evade or throttle down to submit. i had one myself - interdicted and as im touching the throttle it was over and i was back in supercruise with the message i evaded it. and im like what-uh-huh? others have same thing only they found themselves instantly yanked out of sc and tumbling with increased cooldowns. no chance to steer for the vector or throttle down just bam! and then trying to regain control and deal with the enemy. others say they have been doing the interdiction escape, dead in the blue vector - but the red side is rising like the blue side is still. that sounds bugged, if you have your aim in the blue escape vector the red side shouldnt be rising.

you are talking multi configs. im talking multirole. in aircraft, ,multirole means it can fight air to air and do air to ground/ship. maybe not both at the exact same moment in time but its loadout means it can fire missiles when targetting ships, and also defend itself in air to air, in the same mission. THATS multirole. other fighters in real life can as you say be configured for air to ground or for air to air, but they tend not to be called multirole because often they are good at one and ok at the other, and configed for one to the exclusion of the other for the specific mission.

expanding further, this is why some aircraft are called air superiority. if they even have a loadout for air to ground, its not as effective as when loaded to gain control of the air from the enemy fighters.

this is my asp what would you call this config?

If you have cargo fitted Python, and you are interdicted by two Pythons or ELITE combat NPC python what should you want to do, fight? Maybe you also want to win?

No - in a cargo fitted ship you silmply should RUN, even from combat fitted high ranked Vulture, even maybe a Viper.
Why? Because your ship is NOT prepared to fight.

Universal PvE/cargo builds are over. If you wan cargo, then you need to have enough shields to survive, thrusters to RUN and you should be focused on RUNning instead on fighting.
If you want to win, then you should build your ships with more shields, weapons, armours and SCB's instead of cargo racks.

This sounds you want to take a race with agrimotor in F1 challenges. If you want to win in F1, you need a race car, not agrimotor.

That's fine. but the problem I have with that is that it isn't "Play your way!". It's became "Play our way!", do I expect to get jumped out in my trade python... yes. But I don't expect to get it done 13 times by a ship or 2 that can drop you in 2 or 3 shots.

This whole thing about "Learn to fight" (the polite version of "Git gud"), is telling me I should backtrack and drop down into a Cobra or Vulture just to be able to play and hold my own. I can fight, I do use FA off, I do know how to play and do builds. BUT I enjoy being a trader/explorer.

It's now at the stage for me where I no longer can play in peace til it's fixed (if it even does), it's became like my early time in Eve, sitting staring at a hanger because you know there is 3 or 4 hanging around outside because you had to sneak passed them on the way home.

Wrong. Only happens if part of the mission reward is cargo and you have no more /not enough cargo room left on your ship.

There was no missions board to hand the mission into on 2 of them...on another, the destination station didn't even exist. Straight runs A to B...was only using half the space I have available ^^

actually it isnt.

Yes it is. Have a 70% success rate since 2.1 dropped. In a Python. Didn't bother much b4 bc even in my trade config ( no scbs ) I could kill almost anything b4 2.1 - now its different so I do evade. Flakey internet connection can make it difficult though (hence the insta evasions and interdictions and discrepancy between where you point and where the game thinks you are pointing - or between where you think the vector is and where it is).
Happens to me ( maybe 1 in 20 times ). But avoiding interdictions works most of the time.
