Engineers This simply... sucks....

Another way how to survive if there is no wish to take the challenge.
1. If you been interdicted, throw speed to zero, for submitting. If you're do that, cooldown of FSD will going faster
2. Highly desirable to own full pack of heatsinks, go to silent
3. Boost -> faoff, boost, boost. Exact on third boosting FSD will be ready
4. In faoff, turn nose to targeted system and engage FSD. Don't forget to shoot the heatsinks
5. Silent off, faon
6. In that moment FSD will be already charged, probably will ask to align vector and increase your speed. So align then boost!
That's all

Much of excess gab than it deserves

Post your ship loadout here and lets see what we can do to improve your chances.

Post ALL the details or link to ed shipyard.

Important things you need in advance : chaff. Strongest shield you can get. Shield cells. Heat sinks. These are important now for solo traders. More so than cargo space.

Why?

I wiped for 2.1 , not having any issues with making money (other than the bugged missions).

Man up, wipe your commander and see what the game is really about.

But wiping your save & starting again doesn't wipe all your experience you've picked up playing 1st 2nd or 3rd time around.......so it's easy to start again particularly if you excel at combat.

Hi,

this is my experience, and you may not share it,

Well, this does not work anymore, because opponents now have imperial somethings hunting me down... and even that imperial eagle destroyed my ship before the FSD cooled down.....
Matchmaking, if you want to call it that way, does not work anymore. Maybe for those who play high-level, but hey, I just re-started playing and my ranks are... well.. mostly harmless :)

Atan Shubashi

Same exact experience here. An Imperial Eagle WITH missiles cannot be out run by an Asp Explorer fixed for running, anymore. I was interdicted by an Imperial Eagle and before I could get the FSD back online it had reduced me to a floating piece of space junk. and this was at a full boost as fast as I could push the key while jinking and dodging. Every missile hit every time. Now I chalked it up to a fluke but more people are having encounters with SUPER IMPERIAL EAGLES. And 1 more point. this was an interdiction I could not avoid. No matter how long or steady I was in the escape taget, I could NOT build blue on the left bar. I WAS going to be interdicted no matter what.

Before it's asked or assumed, No Faction affiliation. I have (A) class on all my core units. No weapons, running very light with 15 tons of cargo at the time. When FSD failed and I dropped from SC, I just hauled ... boosting away the whole time. I am certain it was an Imperial Eagle and NOT a Clipper. I even thought pppfffttthhh I can out run that! Until the missiles started hitting. And its missile rate was higher than I have ever seen any ship fire them. As soon as one hit another was on its way. EVERY missile hit.

the 2.1 patch was NOT ready

My personal approach to things :

When I'm a Miner, Explorer or Trader or working on some Mission - I don't even deploy hardpoints, unless I'm darn sure my Ship is up for the task. Small Targets, not in Wings.

The only decision I make otherwise is to
- outrun and/or low-wake (mass-lock ?)
- HiWake into another System

So far, that works just fine for me.
But I've had alot of bad surprises from seemingly easy NPCs being far from easy...

PS.
Overall, Turrets look far more sexy now. I'm beginning to prefer that over endless FA off A/B jousting to no end, the buff they received ain't bad.
Double-Chaff is also a consideration now... auto-sequenced via hotkey can take alot of heat off non-combat Ships.

What mission were you actually doing? Just curious, as I'm currently using my courier for its ability to run, but if anything with large cargo capacity can send high level NPCs after me I will think twice before taking them in 2.1.
As for everyone here: the Asp is a pretty decent hull tank, and anything with grade 2 or less weapons should have a hard time killing one. And I too have noticed the AI being a little too trigerhappy with missiles lately, which really is just poor design. Well, at least they're not railguns...

There definitely are "get gud" people who aren't helping anyone when they blow off the constant reports of game-breaking bugs.

feels like hooligans wrecking everything at a trump rally shouting they are anti facism lol

So the people protesting against a pompous, fascist, self-serving racist, who incites violence at his rallies against those who disagree with him (meaning, he brought the protesting upon himself, by being an at)...they're the bad guys? LOL whatever you say.

Also, nice job bringing up politics in a video game forum.

Personally, I don't do trading, but I've been having some fun picking stuff up from USS. So far I haven't had a problem with interdictions. I am using an Eagle to gather materials, so that my loss isn't too big if I do get killed.

I have gotten interdicted plenty of times. Personally, my approach is simple. When in Supercruise, I fly with four pips to systems, and the rest on engines (my Eagle is not for fighting). When I get interdicted, I try to escape, but if I can't, I submit just before the opponents bar is full.

With all pips on shields, even for an eagle it takes a few shots to take it down. I just boost, boost, and enter Supercruise as soon as I'm able.

Haven't had a problem yet. If you are in supercruise, put your pips on system. Especially on a trading ship, you won't get away from the faster ships at all. Putting it on engines so you can boost more is kind of a waste.

Also, consider equipping some chaff, to buy yourself a bit of extra time. On my ASP explorer (the one I'm enhancing now), I carry some chaff, so as soon as I drop out of Supercruise on an interdiction, I pop the chaff so that it buys me a few seconds. Lastly, don't just fly in a straight line, zig zag!

NPC are broke and it is beyond obvious. it has nothing to do with people needing to get better. Its a fact NPC are doing stuff that players cannot. it is also a fact the NPC are trying to ram you. ive died twice to asps and drop, assault ships ramming me.

I was almost killed by a DBS that completely outmaneuvered me, shooting my back all the time. I was in a frikkin Vulture! And I loved it! :D

They're not broken.

You're just used to NPCs that graduated from the Anakin Sywalker Flight School. "Spinning's a good trick".

There is a couple bugs around weapon cool down/fire rates, to be sorted, but apart from that NPCs are not "broke"

ALL THE NPC's are now on steroids i think. After swopping my asp for my python due too the asp have no chance in a good fight, i thought the python should be able too hold its own. Anyway as i needed a few things as in meterials, i thought i would mine some, So i choosed a location about 300ly out of the bubble and found a place or 2 too start mining.
After a few attemps of find a safe-ish location (i.e no pirate condas or python's). i found a place were there were just a sidewinder and eagle, thought yer this should be easy, kill these 2 and start mining. BLOODY HELL WAS I WRONG, the eagle had a plasma accelarator and frag cannon, which both seemed too fire every second or 2 and the sidey had frag cannon and beam laser. there 1st pass got my class A6 shields down too 1 bar, they got on my tail and was bloody hard too get them off, After about 10mins i managed too defeat them both, only because i had turret weapons (i also have 1 plasma accelerator but could not get a shot off). After this encounter i had no shields left hull down too 82%.

My python has A6 shields a military hull package and also A5 hull reinforcment.

With that package on previouse versions of elite i would fancy my chances against a conda, but now i have too think twice about a eagle.

I dare not even think of taking my corvette or my cutter out of the dock @ nearlly 40,000,000 credits to replace 1 of these would really p!ss me off if a 2 eagles could take them out..

ALL THE NPC's

Not quite... Slight exaggeration me thinks.

Since 2.1 dropped, I have:

-Continued to fly my a-rated DBS to:
1-Conduct 'experimental chemical recovery missions'. Even stacked two of these at once.
2-Put over 1.1million creds into the Bounty Hunting CG at Ngolibardu
3-Evaded interdiction from many different rated NPCs, in many various ships (nothing bigger than a clipper so far)
4-Been interdicted by and then either destroyed or escaped from a number of various rated NPCs in various ships (up to & including FAS/FDS/Clippers)
5-BHunted in RESs and taken down everything up to Anacondas.

-Flown my T7 to:
1-Contribute 1400t to the current trade CG
2-Scored two (2) kills along the way.

I have yet to be destroyed....

I am not an Elite rated pilot. I am not even rated Dangerous. My current rating is 75% Expert.

It's just not that difficult. Forget your previous play style. NPCs are no longer graduates of the Anakin Skywalker flight school (spinning's a good trick).

They will fight back, they will flee, they will use tactics. Yes, there are some crazy weapon cool down / fire rate bugs to be found and squashed, but I'm sure FD are working feverishly to correct those.

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

If I can do it, as an expert rated, pilot I'm sure all you Elite/Dangerous rated pilots can too...

In my mining corvette which is not full combat fitted but has 1600MJ shields 2 huge pulses and 1 large PA, when I see wing of 3 NPC's no matter what ships I just run away immediately

Just logged in since the patch and I just lost my python in 5sec and all its cargo from one npc just blasting me with missiles.
It's quite frustrating to have a good exploration ship destroyed so quickly.

I will wait until the game is balanced before playing again.

Cant find any sub-Dangerous ships.
Cant outmaneuver a DBS in an Imperial Eagle anymore.
Havent survived a battle with more than 20% hull.
Havent won a single fight.

But yeah clearly its due to my skill magically getting worse since the patch. How silly of me not to realise.

What skill?? It sounds like very weak piloting... :/

Not sure it is your skill getting worse: more like the skill you thought you had against very easy NPC's prior to the 2.1 update was, shall we say; not as good as you thought?

We have all had to adapt our combat skills as a result - do what you have always done and you will come out worse off
