So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Excellent! Now ... is there anyone in the bubble who can visit Meliae / Carr Terminal and have a look to see if it the same logo? My bet that if the logos are the same then we can skill the tinfoil on this one.
Well, I am. But about to leave for a week trip for work in a couple of hours, so sadly can't check. :(

Here you go :D :

Hello fellow rifters.

Commander Candido123 posted this on the Spanish thread of the Formidine Rift. He said that he didn't take that screenshot but I think worth check it.

On the top right: Permit required to land.

The system is Pha Aeb XV-E D11-1 A 1, in the middle of the Rift (roughly -10.000 / 9 / -6.500). I know that Horizons is not needed to solve the mystery BUT is a permit locked planet in the middle of nowhere... If is any commander near could double check this? And check if is something weird on the system.

Side note all the pha aeb XV-E procedural systems should also be checked for other oddities as it is well known procedural gen names are a factor in some elements of the game

Oh ok.

Would look. But I still need to upgrade my conda.

Welcome to the party :) can I suggest reading all the OPs of this thread. They should contain all the information you need.

There have been a few new developments this past couple of weeks which I will update in the OP as soon as I can - but skimming the last 15 or so pages of this thread should get you up to speed :)

Really going to be irritated when the "IT" is found in a system that I tagged and I flew right by it without even noticing... :D

I noticed the same in the vicinity of the Myoidee sector. I remember at one point, every 2-3 jumps lead me to a habitable system. The ones within close proximity to each other are MYOIDEE GX-L D7-4, MYOIDEAU ZH-U C16-0 and PHRIO HYPUE DT-O D7-2.

Since we have bookmarks now, maybe all of us should share our findings and map the areas that have the most earth-likes.

I was going bonkers exploring MYOIDEAU sector before. Almost felt like someone was taunting me... MYOIDEE ... MYOIDEAU ... 'My Idea' ...

so the MYOIDEAU sector is a good place for earthlikes, will swing by on my way out to the rift and do some mapping, that said even if a earthlike is already discovered and turned in u can still make some nice coin off retagging, and multiple instances of a deep earthlike being turned into UC might have some future colony weighting if bases are ever built out here im sure something is build into the background sim

we should also get behind any groups or initatives to get a station or outpost build out towards the rift

Currently that would mean sothis which i think is pointing in the general direction of polaris and the rift from a certain angle, im sure at the moment player traffic is low, though there are nice smuggling missions and with the powerplay games coming up no new player backed CGs are likley anytime soon but for the future

You need a ship with a good jump range to make it around. I got stuck quite a few times in that sector and had to back track around.

31.5ly range jump asp without jumponium so i have all the guides and can make it across no problem, but am watching the map closely

Drew had a couple of interesting comments on "IT" in his recent AMA. These included that i) we are "not looking for a specific POI" and ii) "at this point it's unlikely you would recognize it for what it is, although it is becoming clearer day by day".

To me this suggests that "IT" is actually just a particular region of space. Which happens to be the home of or occupied by...something dangerous (mostly likely, intelligent, space-faring and dangerous, because otherwise it wouldn't be much of a threat). You could jump into the dangerous region, but unless you notice the threat, you aren't know that you've found "IT".

becoming clearer by the day could be the patrol zone we are being asked to check in the rift. Could it be that this area might see the first appearence of the thargoids and other mysteries over the course of the x amount of years to come. the region of space also fits in with this. and yes until we find it we can only keep searching
