I found something strange. VERY strange... (The missing?)

So I was on my way to mine some Samarium in the Algol system, when (on the way to Algol 4 A) I got a signal source. Flying close to the signal source didn't change anything. It just said 'Unidentified Signal Source'. Nothing else. No 'Weapons fire detected' or 'degraded emissions'.
After jumping in, I was like 'Oh it's just degraded emissions not labelled correctly', but no. The wreckage I found resembled NO current ship in the game. This lead me to think of the upcoming ships or the previous elite ships. After prowling the wreckage, a contact appeared on my scanner. A cobra, unmoving. I went up to it and scanned it. Lawless - Cetus' Bane. I googled Cetus' Bane, and I got only two results for Elite. One of which was mentioned in 'The Missing' megathread. The cobra had a Medusa paint job, with the mouth as the cockpit canopy.
.
Below is a video of what I found. The signal source is still there after I re-logged today and re-jumped into the system. Bug, or the missing? Also, the fact that the wreckage orbits a dark volcanic planet suggests this wasn't just a coincidence...

Side note: The 'old film' filter is only there for a few seconds.

Interesting, though I note you went for the 'We come in peace, shoot to kill' option.

If it is the missing, will they now have to be the Found (formerly Missing)?

Things I discover will be added here.

The 'transport' must have been carrying Earth Relics. The fact that the Cobra was also carrying Earth relics proved that it destroyed the transport. Earth relics also suggest a 'colony ship' since it's usual to bring possessions when you're on the way to another planet. Could this be one of the Missing ships?

Well... Now this is interesting...

Can't check myself. How far is Algol from Sol? It would really be interesting to see if this is really persistent.

Can't watch the video now, but will later. Sadly, I'm traveling for a full week. I have been looking for possible hints like this on generation ships for ages!

Only 92 LY from SOL. Uninhabited, unexplored. I imagine there are more colony ships much further out from SOL. This one must have been one with bad luck.

See if that particular USS respawns exactly as-is :D ... if it's a reoccuring "phenomena", then it might be something tinfoil hat worthy.
I'm on my way now. I might take another video anyway to prove this is a special signal source.

Not sure how far away from there I'm right now (haven't yet logged on)... but if it's still there when you arrive, then defo making my way there too.

OI! I discovered this! It's mine! MY PRECIOUS!

Use a hatch breaker on ol' Cetus and see what you get. \o/

Spoiler, it rhymes with Perth Bellic. :p

Fancy, I arrived to Algol - the "Unidentified Signal Source" popped up in nav list the moment I entered the system (at 357 Ls distance at that)...

Flying closer to see what's that oddity all about. And indeed ...

Not sure if it still does this after 1.6 but before 1.6 the USS itself after you dropped onto it would keep moving away in one direction like if it was orbiting the planet faster than you are.
