"The Final Five" days of the Distant Worlds Expedition 3302 are upon us!
Just like the first "Beagle Point Week" in april, the five days of June 1st to June 5th will be dedicated to whatever group events can be organized by the pilots currently at Darwins Legacy.
If you want to host an event, just post about it in this thread. I will make an effort to keep the OP updated.
All events will start landed at Darwins Legacy Basecamp (Beagle Point 2, 48.56 / -35.57) unless otherwise stated in your description of the event.
All times given should be IGT (In Game Time).
Please state if there is any specific comms you would like to use. I assume most events should use one of the FleetComm discord channels
- though I have myself posted a few events that use Team Speak instead (because of the special nature of those events we need to have no PTT voice chat and also be undisturbed.
At the time of writing the list below is mostly empty, so please submit your ideas and events
(You can find inspiration in the link to Beagle Point Week above)
Wednedsday, June 1st:

- 19.00 IGT: Mad Moran's Flying Circus (formation flying and astrobatics practice)
Host: Corbin Moran
On May 31st we were a group that did a nice formation flyby of the Beagle Point 2 Tranpolar Expedition. It was quite fun!
I´d like to try more of this, and see just how much can be accomplished by an untrained group with a little common practice.
We will depart Darwins Legacy at 19.00 and fly to a practice area on the day side of the planet.
We will start out working with easy maneuvers in safe altitudes, and only gradually build up the complexity.
Even so Id like to stress that you take part in this at your own risk!
You will need to have access to Team Speak voice comms in order to take part.
We will be using The Array.
Sign in to that TS server and go to channel "Briefing Room".
If you don´t have a microphone that is ok, but you need to be able to hear and react to flight leader commands if this is to work.
If you want to take part in the airshow at the closing ceremony then sign up here.

Thursday, June 2nd:
- 19.00 IGT: Expedition to ringed ELW Podar
Host: May
Howdy! If folks are willing to fly a little ways, I'm planning to go visit the ringed ELW Podar, about 1250ly away (~1500 route) from BP tomorrow afternoon or evening and would be glad to lead a group over there. We had an impromptu base camp setup on a particularly picture-esc mountain during the first Beagle Week - details: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=241650
It's a busy week but I should be online by 1900-2000 in game time on the 2nd if anybody wants to join me

- 16.30 IGT: Ship Hopscotch and Death Leap (at 17.00)
Host: Wishblend
16.30: Ship hopscotch.
Srv's jumping from ship to ship while the ships are in the air.
17.00: Death leap by CMDR Wishblend (and other daring souls?).
I will be sacrificing a srv (possibly) by jumping of a ship in my srv and trying to land safety on the ground using thrusters to slow my desent.
Bets welcome and don't forget the marshmallows for the bonfire if I crash and burn.
If anyone else wants to join me, that is fine and we can see who survives the highest hight.

At 17.30 IGT we will depart from Darwins Legacy and fly app. 50 km out to the practice area. Here we will see just how many fancy maneuvers it is possible for an untrained group to learn in an hour (I challenge you!).
At 18.30 all pilots wanting to take part in the airshow must have arrived and be in formation (no latecomers after this point!). We will spend 30 minutes practicing the final routine of the airshow.
At 19.05 we will fly back to Darwins Legacy, do a flyby of the camp and perform any tricks we have learned.
You will need to have access to Team Speak voice comms in order to take part.

- 17.30 IGT: Campfires and chill out... on fleetcomm
An encouragement from Dr.kaii to those not taking part in the Flying Circus: "Please everyone gather at 5:30pm IGT just to chill. No events, no organisers, just you and your stories. Gather some wood, some campfires, and talk about the epic journey you've been on with whoever is there!"
