knock it off guys
"What difference would it make if i was on this commander or one with a different name, my mind boggles how some of you think... See my comment above, immediate proof! "
You don't want to see a difference, you just want. I'll just roll a novice cmdr, jump into my class A python and go undermining. I could lay waste to the entire system, what's to stop me? novice npc's? I can think of many other ways to unbalance the game, but there I go again. Thinking, never was my strong suit.So again, no to more slots.
Yes, Liqua. Glad to know you aren't text-deaf (term patent pending). If you're coming from a RP perspective, if you are stuck out in deep space in your beloved ship as a CMDR and then suddenly you poof to Sol in your battle corvette, it's breaking immersion. Bring something to the board next time and not just puerile mockery.
Slightly off topic but Liqua, with all the money you put into this game how many commanders do you have?
You shouldn't. The game doesn't have morale system, builds, character customization as mmo's have.
Go to nearest station, buy sidewinder, note the amount of money you have and make it your 0 point. There New Game with a "new" commander. How hard can that be?
Wow. I started this thread this morning then went out all day. 7 pages of discussion over this is good! I do quite like the idea of grabbing a sidey and doing a 'lite reset' but it still isn't the same as having a whole new separate commander. Still, there is some passion here with this issue so maybe change might come.
That puts up one recent problem tho, parking. It's nigh impossible to find a parking slot at some engineers unless you switch mode. That fixes itself over time, ay - but right now "to park = switch mode".
An *EASY* solution? You want FD to do all that coding, and think it's an easy solution? :O
Why? There's nothing in it for them. They would be investing time for...nothing. Nothing but complaints. Not that they're obliged in any way to refund customers.
No: An easy solution is for people who want a second CMDR enough to go and spend £25 quid or whatever it is for another copy. Job done!
I think you should wipe. Start fresh with all the wisdom and experience that goes with it. Its hard and it feels wierd but a "soft" reset won't do it.
Do it. Let your self go. Step into the void. Your time was never wasted. You have memory and experience and that won't be wiped, and your starting game will see the rewards!
Some of us are on VERY low incomes and buying the entire game again for multiple commanders is frippery of the highest order.
"I can't afford it" is not a compelling argument as to why something should be free.

FD make money as a lot of people buy 2nd accounts to have a 2nd commander.
They know if they just gave you extra commander slots then that money would not come in.
I would just like to add, if this is the company policy: frontier needs to close down and those responsible made to commit ritual suicide in order to retain their honor or crushed by the company Brontosaurus, because clearly they are from the stone age. That is the most anti-consumer stance I have ever heard and no company that is so unconcerned about their customers deserves to continue operation.
You can: Get a second account.![]()
You should only be able to configure your controls once. After that, you have to buy a new copy. The majority of Elite fans would be in favor of this, especially the ones that post in these forums. Money is basically free anyway, so what's the big deal? Don't you have lots and lots of money, like I do? You'd have to be some kind of a loser to not have lots and lots of money.
Honestly you should have to buy a new copy of the game every time you die, but some people are such whining babies that they can't stand the idea of a game with actual consequences in it. Typical entitled instant-gratification Call of Duty fast-food gamers. They're probably poor, too.
It's also a huge missed opportunity that FDev allow you to toggle all of the different voice/music/soundFX settings individually for free, when I'm sure most people would be delighted to pay for them as DLC. I mean, it's not like we *need* the ship's voice to tell us when FA is toggled on and off. Sure it's nice to have, but nobody *needs* it; and if it's so important to you then you should be willing to open your wallet and help fund the development of this amazing game!
After all, these things require developer resources. Did you know that making videogames is really, really hard, costly, and that every feature is basically impossible to implement? I know this, because I'm smart; which is probably why I have so much money. If you don't have a lot of money, you're probably not very smart; and you shouldn't be playing videogames anyway; you should be out there bettering yourself so that you can one day be more like me!
TL;DR: entitled gamers need to stop whining about "basic features that all other games have," and instead they should GIT GUD at having disposable income to pay for multiple accounts.
