Wish the forum filter out the word "carebear" and "griefer" so it creates less drama.

There's no stopping drama on an on-line forum really, even if I would like an EJ style moderation, but that's not going to happen. On the other hand, the use of those words does save me time as the instant I see one of them used as an insult, as the OP demonstrates, I know I can skip the post as it's 100% guaranteed to not contain any meaningful discussion or information. Time is money, friend.

Piracy does not have anything to do with humiliation to most pirates in the game. It is just NPC does not offer the challenge and the tools are not really there for NPC piracy. When pirating a player the rush comes from the fact of not knowing whether you face a person that complies or fights. Will he have help that jumps in. Not everyone wants to do nothing else but farm NPCs as that is boring rinse and repeat gameplay

Besides... Isn't the npc AI now vastly improved and more fun and challenging? I'm finally sure that's what all the good combat pilots are saying...

You expect pirates to hunt out warships? You may want to take a look at what piracy is. It is taking the cargo of merchants and traders not being an honorable soldier looking for fights. It is stealing from those that are not capable of defending their cargo

And unfortunately nobody wants to play with you, so get together with all your favourite Pirate friends... And take turns. The good old fashioned way, you know like playing footie on the playground at school. Team sports.

Mmm.

It's the local green, open to everybody, people go there on a nice summer Sunday afternoon and play cricket and footie and rugby, have picnics, throw Frisbee, run their dogs around. But there's a general politeness and well mannered respectfully consensus.
Everybody's having a good time.

The rugby players, having a little bit too much to drink and get a bit rowdy, charge over to the cricket players and start tackling them to the ground, clotheslines them, standing on their heads, squeezing the life out of em.
The cricket players, and the onlooking crowd, being nice, respectfull people all decide to go to each others private gardens the following nice summer afternoons and enjoy their own company.
The rugby players rock up and go, where'd everyone go? We just wanted to play rugby with you all! What's wrong? Scared! Hah! Can't play rugby! Hah! What the hell! It's a public space, rugby is legitimate! It's awesome! Why don't you come back and join in! We'll show you how! Oh it's very unsportsmanlike behaviour! We should get them all banned because they won't play rugby with us!

WOW OP!!! The ego has landed!!! Wondered what was wrong with my life for the past week and now I know, your insightful and amazing scripture!

It amazes me that in a game that needs as many people playing and spending their money �� as possible for it to have a bright future you feel the need to use terms like "carebears" and such to further spilt the community. Just because they play the game differently to you and want different things from it!! Not everyone was born with your obvious super human skills!!

Personally I've loved the new AI since 2.1 dropped but can appreciate others don't. Maybe rather than being all superior you could offer Frontier ideas on how to make the game great for everyone. From the ace pilots to the ones that play just to relax and unwind and have no interest in combat.

Frontier have given us a massive galaxy to play in, surely its large enough to have areas that cater to everyone!! From mental anarchy systems with psychotic NPC's to super secure systems where trading is pretty safe. But the Anarchy systems pay more.

Have a look at a world Atlas, look at all the different countries in the world! Some you'd happily take the family on holiday, others not without an Abrams' tank!! Why can't Elite be like that???

Piracy is already dead. Combat logging, Submit/Boost/Jump, 15 sec. Exit... Didn't you get the memo?

And Bounty hunting naturally died along with it.... We now have space truckers in ghost mode and Crazy Craft shooting anything that moves in open.....

The role play died long ago.....

My forum experience would be greatly improved if I didn't see daily threads about 'griefing' or how PvP is killing the game every time I log in. A little switch triggers in my head the minute I see that and I start to lose it..

As for the game difficultly. I threw a bit of a wobbler when I learnt the NPCs had their engineer mods removed but I'm happy to report that the AI/NPCs still pose a decent threat. The Elite ones can be very tricky..

I feel a much greater sense of jeopardy and I think it makes the game much better, more enjoyable, gritty, and challenging..

Issue here is that before ED was way to easy, particuarly for experienced players. Now the NPCs do pose a danger, I like it. Problem is finding a way so less experienced players aren't constantly crushed by the NPCs.. I'd like to think one can manage the risk by being careful where we go..

Of course over time as we players pimp out our ships the NPCs may well start looking much less of a threat..

That's right Lucifer Hate is back. After a 7 day vacation from the forums I am back and the muzzle is off. As many of my posts (well the ones you can see that were not infracted) show what I think of some of the things going on, why should this one be any different. I am sure this post will be controversial and I am sure there will be carebear people that drink the kool-aid will try to report it to get it removed as well as getting the muzzle back on me. I am sure mods will look for a reason to do just that as they always have when anyone says anything negative about Frontier or Elite. Whether you like me me or not, or don't like what I say I don't really care, but I WILL say what I think needs to be said.

I don't see why anyone want to muzzle you. Maybe ban you for a week to see you come back and crying about it. It's gripping stuff.

Boo hoo! I have been banned because I talk truth. And FD can't handle the truth. And I are important! Look pal, I have been banned twice for a week and I talk bollox. Also I have been told I am firmly in the fanboy carebear demographic.

1. I have seen some lazy carebear things in my time gaming from developers but the recent move from FD takes the cake. The recent decision to refund ALL the rebuys from the drop of 2.1 to 2.1.1 is ridiculous. I can see refunding those that did lose due to the bug that was in place and proof was found of this. What did Frontier do, they refund all of them whether lost by the player doing something stupid with his ship, or losing it in a way that was a legit kill. ONLY bugged kill should ever have gotten a refund of insurance or ship costs.

Have you thought about maybe they don't have such detailed logs that would tell them how precisely the players died? So the only way to refund those who died from the bug, was to refund everyone? Never thought about that? Oh is that because you are on a crusade against "carebears"? Gotcha.
