As evidenced in the latest monthly studio report
Finally catching up with what Frontier were testing right back when they started work on Horizons then.... and what NMS (in a way) has been showing working just fine for years

\o/ yay for the multibillion invested CIG compared to Hello and Frontier. They've been too slow - the chicks have left the nest already

Thats very unlikely to be a spoof, Brown Hornet is an early backer and one thing he never does in his posts is joke around. He also mentioned this when challenged in the reddit thread http://imgur.com/1GJd3AS . Look at the fourth paragraph of the kickstarter, it absolutely states every single ship we sell over the next 48 hours will 'never' be sold again. Mr Hornet complained about this and got marked a 'difficult customer' . This is where the problems started, I mean what is it if its not pure rotten lies? LTI was another one that was reintroduced after saying the complete opposite, controller agnosticism was a bait and switch with zero-order gimbal controls despite backers being assured that wouldn't happen. Star-marine ready in weeks?

How could you believe anything they say at this point, I know I don't.

I'm very much in the I'll believe when I see it camp when it comes to CIG these days.

Ref the tags on the support cases - I'm just trying to exercise due diligence - I've been caught out by 'shopped stuff before :)

But it wouldn't surprise me if it were real - we've seen stuff from the senior management in their own words that make it relatively easy to believe that this type of thing would exist assuming the culture permeates downwards..

There a a few people on here I've seen post for a long time who I would believe just as you have reason to believe the Brown Hornet guy.

In any case there is plenty of unequivocal stuff to be more concerned about on the game development front.

I'd love to see how this stuff is explained away or properly interpreted as a sign of a world class customer service department that's revolutionized customer service since it was a little girl.

Cmon, can no one offer a "I'm in favor of whatever contempt-filled system CIG puts in place to save time by insulting it's biggest backers who have given thousands of dollars to Croberts" to go with my breakfast? Blaming Derek Smart isn't good enough. I want something that really insults my intelligence and almost causes toast to go flying across the room!

Seems @dsmart had a look at his own account https://t.co/YyrQAvvJxm and the tags are hidden client-side by using Javascript. That's gold!

The `dont_send_feedback` tag is interesting.

Presumably so if an "innocent" query comes from any such users CIG just won't reply.

- Snowflakes: Don't upset, possibly used for high value backers.
- High maintenance: Take care, these users are a PITA.
- Grey Market Trading: This one's interesting, I mean I'm guessing they get grey market traders trying to abuse/game the system for profit hence wanting to flag it.

It's will only be visible to the account, ie you log in, it shows your tags in the source.

It's just user data.

Ta - okay - so that code then would be visible to anyone with an account even if they found no tags when looking at their page?

I'm just trying to get my head round whether this is easily provable for anyone who cares to look - tagged or not.

The code would be there for everyone, but it will only list the groups the viewing user (logged in user) is in.

So unfortunately no, not easily provable.

Wow I thought it was meant to be over an area at least. Just one system?

That's pretty pitifully disappointing :(

To be fair, that one star system could be packed with rich stuff (maybe). For example, ithe Firefly 'Verse was set in avsingle star system if I recall correctly. Of course just about every story ever told is :p.

Hah well most of our stories anyway.

I guess we do get single O/B-type systems that large, but it's a helluva system - not sure i've heard anything about multi-star stuff in SC yet - their 'map of the verse' was er.... worrying.

Trying to understand this but since english is not my native language, could someone explain what "goon" and "snowflake" means? I know what's snowflake, but not in this case.
Are those some kind of derogatory terms ?
Used like this yeah

"Goon" is generally rude and implies someone is just a mindless thug following someone else so they can be 'big'
"Snowflake" is from "precious little snowflake" and the idea that they're all unique and individual - i.e. someone who thinks they're super special and delicate and deserves special treatment or can't cope with anything harsh

edit> ps. what's your version of those? always really interested in different countries versions - like the french "it's raining like a cow...."

In this context "Goon" is referring to a poster on the SomethingAwful forums, as they have long been collectively known as "Goons", and are something of a bogeyman for CIG because that community keeps uncovering suspicious and embarrassing facts about CIG and their game.
It is saying "ignore this person, they are a troublemaker by association." It is a disgusting thing for a customer support department to be doing.

Also, Major Tom, the guy who makes those embarrassing (for SC) videos on Youtube was registered in SC under a different name. A name similar to his SA username. Yet magically he is tagged as Major Tom in the SC customer support, a name he had never used with them. Which further confirms that employees of CIG are stalking their customers to track what they say or do on unrelated websites. Which is both immoral and extremely creepy.

Snowflake is a term which Sandi used in a customer support mail exchange with @Beer4TheBeerGod. You might have a look at your own tags. Didn't you ask for a refund?

I did but they closed my case as rejected.
It's sad to see this witch hunt, I thought CIG was serious company.
