The ten, 2.1, commandments

Yeah yeah, I was including everything after, mister wise guy, and also, there is no video proof, so don't waste your time. I already tried to find it..

Huh... funny. I've found close to a dozen from the last week alone. It's not hard. You're either lying or you've not got the slightest clue how to use youtube. Heck, here's one from 3 or 4 days ago. Also, it's hilarious that you demand video proof - like people are going to keep fraps running on their system for hour after hour just in the hope that they can show some arrogant on the forums something that rarely or occasionally happens. Also, 10 seconds? Who cares if that's hyperbole. 15? 20? does it matter really? You can't escape either way. I've been obliterated in my FDL (all class A with hull reinforcements) in under 30 seconds by a Python. That happened last night. Twice. No chance what so ever to run away or anything. By the time you realize what's going on, you're as good as dead. It takes about 3-5 seconds to find a star, another 5-10 seconds to align to it, and another what... 10-15 seconds to high wake? Yeah. Good look with that one, buddy. I know I certainly had no desire to fire up fraps and fill my hard drive with footage just to appease someone like you. FD can just look at logs if they want confirmation.

Shove your arrogant fanboism where the sun don't shine.

I don't get it. I'm saying YOU WILL die when you come across challenges eventually. If you have NEVER died you have never found difficulty with the game, so the game is too easy, in that case.

Now you're losing me. Are you saying it is impossible to play this game without dying? It should be possible to both be challenged by the game and never die. That's why we "Iron Man" players do the reset. When I die in-game I reset my game save based on the fact that I should be able to reach Elite without dying. I know of at least one person who has made triple-Elite while playing under "Iron Man" rules. I don't think that means the game was too easy for him. It means he has skills.

You shouldn't have to die in Elite: Dangerous. A major part of the difficulty for me is avoiding unnecessary risks. It should be totally doable to 'make a living' as a meek and mild-mannered trader without ever having lost your ship. Anything less and it stops being a space flight simulator and becomes just an arcade game with infinite lives.

If anything Elite is way too forgiving on how it handles 'death'. As long as you have enough money you pick up right where you left off. Where is the challenge in that? Given enough time any 'immortal' will eventually reach 'Elite' regardless of their actual skill level.

This was obviously a bug. And the video is from 01.06. Is that all you could find?

Of course not. I just did a quick filter search and looked for the most recent. Furthermore, 1.06 IS 2.1. Literally, minus the Horizons bit.

I am talking about 1st of June. Not 1.6.

Patchnotes from 3rd of June:

- Fix NPCs ending up with overpowered hybrid weapons

Yeah. I used to think ships below the vulture priceline were terrible, but after actually experiencing the different ships, and seeing how the AI (that actually knows how to fight) uses them, I've got more respect for them and realize yes, they're designed to dogfight. The Viper 4 is my fave for allll kinda reasons.

But the whole "I want change, I don't want TO change" attitude is awful.

Also, nice chaos king avatar.

Off topic but the avatar is a proxy mine from the original unreal tournament goty edition. They laugh maniacally while chasing you.

I'm pretty sure it was nicknamed the 'Chaos King' in a later patch, or there was a player model based on that with that name. The grappling hooks in that were too fun. :)

No, 1.6 is 2.1, not 1.06.

Also, that's a bug, not the result of the AI. We aren't discussing bugs.

Getting destroyed in seconds is the 5th one right? the thing that just happened?

You are absolutely discussing bugs. Denying them actually. so yeah if you are gonna make a self righteous post (or defend it) then saying "obviously we werent talking about (the exact thing we are talking about)" just makes you sound like you realized you are wrong

Is it only using such pedantry that you feel you can win the argument with?
Especially when you have made the mistake of taking 1.06 as the version and not a date 1st June
If you are going to hold other people to such exacting standards don't make such mistakes yourself.

Yes 2.1 had instant kill bugs, the request was for a video from 2.1.2, but you stuck with 2.1 as if it validates you feelings that 2.1.2 is bugged to.

Shove your arrogant fanboism where the sun don't shine.

And really is that all you can say when you make mistakes like confuse a date with a version number, but expect everyone else to never make a mistake ever.

I love how you feel that language is appropriate to anyone who disagrees with you.

I think the point he's making is that the video was posted before Friday's patch which should have fixed an acknowledged bug. What happened in a video on the 1st of June shouldn't happen after the patch on the 3rd of June. And the guy in the video should have had his insurance buyout reimbursed along with everybody else.

1: Thou shalt attempt combat with high ranking NPCs in a combat ship.

2: Thou shalt realize that bigger ships does not mean better combat ships.

3: Thou shalt realize in a space game, it is only proper that enemy A.I. dogfight, and use dogfighting tactics.

4: Thou shalt keep an eye on thy radar, on thy shields, and thy contact list, or thou shalt be blown to space dust in a few moments because thou art damn absent-minded.

5: Thou shalt not use the words 'destroyed me in seconds' in thy complaints unless thou hast found the first Thargoid.

6: Thou shalt report bugs to the developers, and not blame it on smarter A.I.. Thou shalt look up what a non-sequitur is if thou don't know why.

7: Thou shalt realize that never being destroyed means thou hast never been challenged.

8: Thou shalt remember discretion is the better part of valour, and retreat from unfavourable encounters.

9: Thou shalt tread lightly around wings of enemies.

10: Thou shalt remember Elite: Dangerous is not a sandbox game.

Given to me on the mountain by a mad-man in a gold plated sidewinder, the crazy.

Anything but a Maneuverable Fighter is Useless.

2.
Bigger Ships are only useful as Transports and serve no other Purpose.

3.
Current Turrets are Accurately Firing and Tracking Enemies on 6km and more. (20km if your using Missiles)
So of course Science Fiction Laser Guns are Limited to roughly 3km Range where any Standart Main Battle Tank is Outranging it.

4.
Be wary of People who Magically dont appear on your Sensors till 500m distance despite you seeing them on your Screen because apparently Science Fiction Sensors are about as useful as an Micro Wave.

5.
If you get Killed by Bugged or Overpowered NPCs in a Few Seconds. Pls dont complain about it. Because the Wannabe Hardcore Players which only Fly around in A grade Outfitted Combat Fighters might lose their Scapegoat Reason for telling you off.

6.
If the Devs make a Mistake its a Bug. If the Devs make a Mistake because a small part of the Hardcore Community kept Crying they wanted it. (no matter how ridiculous it is) You shall not Complain about it just cause your the Majority.

Masochism is an Requirement for Gameplay.

8.
So is Cowardice because the Game is not there to be Fun for you. But to be Fun for Fighter Players.

9.
Dont Attack entire Wings of Enemies when your alone.

try again

Actually, the request wasn't stated as being 2.1.2 but hey, whatever you say, boss! He made a statement that he's not seen evidence of its existence so I gave him some. He did NOT say he hadn't seen evidence since 2.1.x. Also, the 20-30 second deaths aren't a bug in 2.1.2, they're a "feature". A broken feature. Want evidence of that one? It's not hard. Go snag the attention of any elite NPC that is approx. the same ship class as you or higher, watch your shields and hull melt away before you have a chance to escape. But let me guess, you have 1337 skillz and that's never a problem for you, right?

1: Agility is best for combat. This is only common sense. Heavy-ship killers, like Vultures and FDLs, will naturally have an edge against Anacondas.

2: Except for the Cutter and Corvette, all other big ships are primarily multipurpose (I think the Cutter is mostly multipurpose anyway?)

3: It's a bit silly, but suspending the disbelief I guess.

4: The only time they should appear that close is when they drop out of supercruise. You should make sure you have sensors with enough range.

5: Bugs should be reported. It has nothing to do with game difficulty. Please stop assuming I think I'm the best. My Viper mk4 is hardly god tier.

6: Even polls show that you're a minority.

7: You die sometimes. I die sometimes. If you havent', well, you're a damn good pilot.

8: Know when to hold 'em know when to fold 'em. If you think retreat is cowardice you don't understand warfare.

9: Common sense, no?

10: If you indulge in the combat aspect, prepare to adapt to the combat aspect. I don't see any of my advice having to do with traders or explorers, no?

"Elite: Dangerous is a space adventure, trading, and combat simulation video game developed and published by Frontier Developments."

Tell me where Frontier ever said it was sandbox.

That's exactly the problem. It really isn't. It would be quite a bit better if it was and we had the tools to take advantage of it.

Come on you can do better than that, becuae

Shove your arrogant fanboism where the sun don't shine.

Is the appropriate response to someone asking for evidence

Yes can be far more personal than that, I mean after all "But let me guess, you have 1337 skillz and that's never a problem for you, right' Youre already speaking for me, painting a picture of who I must be, as I disagree with you there must be character assassination.

So, do you have any videos from the most recent patch 2.1.2?
After the 04.06 (the date not version number just so you don't get confused)

Is that specific enough for you?

The game is what it is. If you came to it expecting something else, like a space minecraft, I'd suggest Space Engineers. Or something like that.
But you have no one to blame but Marketing or yourself for a misunderstanding.

People generally go for the 'you're just a filthy elitist' argument, when they run out of evidence.
