We're disappointed in you CMDR, please deliver the goods anyway...

My theory with these is that the "early delivery" time is set when you take the mission, but you only get the mission update when dropping in to the station/system. If you've already missed it, they give you a bonus minute to try anyway.

Overall, the mission system is much better now. It feels a more integral part of the game. But as others have mentioned, I've had a couple of 'rush job' updates where I jump into the target system and the update time has already expired.

But it's a minor bug and I'm sure it will be fixed soon. In most cases I'm given 6-7 minutes which is enough. I wish it was less predictable though - it shouldn't trigger an update for every cargo delivery mission as I believe happens currently, gets boring...now and again as a bonus request would be better.

I reported this and got a reply that they were aware of it and have been looking into it.

The missions seem to be working better than ever, it's a shame about the bonuses.

Here's another example - at 19 secs in the video I get a mission update, and at 1m19s it fails. Yes I did a crap job of landing (I've never used my Cutter since I bought it a month ago - it's a damn heavy ship), but even so given the time it takes the mission board to come up, I doubt it could have been done in an agile ship and a perfect landing.

The most annoying part is the condescending little messages the NPCs send you, berating your inability to deliver cargo 'on time' which you then have to manually erase so your message tab doesn't get clogged. SMH.

Failing 'bonus' isn't same as failing the whole mission, duh :D

It was data

Just to ask the obvious had/have you got free space in your data storage inventory?

I spent some time deleting all the lower rank stuff that had been accumulating since the upgrade yesterday and am now at 86/200 rather than 200/200 on data storage.

Yes I do find the bonus failed messages annoying, but at least I managed to delete them. The one asking me to salvage something for them I haven't managed to delete yet.

I'll get straight to the point; something needs to be done about 'rush jobs' with impossible delivery windows. We're talking maybe six seconds to make it from the SC drop off point to the docking pad. I've had the mission menu take longer to open than that!

If you can't manage to deliver your cargo within 6 seconds like the customer demands, the fault doesn't lie with the system. You just need to "git gud"!

Well obviously I need a tier 5 dirty drives mod.

Too bad I can't unlock the engineers I need because of the ridiculous permit mission glitch.

Honestly it's like nobody tested any of the ancillary stuff in the Beta, just the modules and AI.

Hi

Are you saying that now even when you run out of time you can still deliver and get less of a fine that fully failing? If so bugs aside this is a big improvement imo

You have 24 hours for most basic delivery missions, the "bonus" offerings are meant to replace the contacts you used to have stalk you in space.

Even if you fail to meet the bonus window the original time for the job still stands. Sometimes they update more than once if you miss the first bonus too.

Wait til he uses the docking computer and gets chiding remarks from the ATC...

It's a joke that 2.1 was suppose to be a missions fix but it's still broke in many ways. I'm not even sure why fdev have a beta anymore when every update seems like a rush to release even when it was pushed back to begin with.

I thought 2.1 was meant to be the big bug fixer. All I've heard is that it not only hasn't fixed the bugs but introduced a massive bunch of new ones - so when are the OLD bugs getting fixed?
