HTC ships winthin 2-3 day from order; Cancel Oculus?

Got my Rift today. I ran into frequent 'Hardware Error' msgs during setup, and then frequent hdmi disconnects from the HMD. Needless to say, I was beside myself and already exhausted from the day. I sent in a support ticket. Then, I decided to try some of the USB 3.1 ports that are used for ss charging on my MB. Well, all is well and no disconnects.
I will be honest and say the lens flaring was disappointing, even though I already knew about it. However, after playing ED for a while it wasn't really bothering me as much. Besides, the comfort, lightweight, quality, ease of use, integrated mic and headphones.....I'm willing to put up with the lens flare. I played for well over an hour, of which at that point the dk2 would've been irritating me, it pushes on my sinuses, and occasionally presses against my nose which is uncomfortable. The cv1 had no discomfort for me. I could've easily played for a loooooong time.
Quick note, I compounded my experience tonight bc I got an X52 in the mail. So, I worked on learning that in place of my thrust master t-flight hotas X. Gonna take some getting used to, but I like it.

Honestly, with all the crap Faculus are pulling, I hope they fail tbh.

Thanks for the super insightful opinion. The fact you called it 'Faculus', really contributed to the deep thoughtful process that makes up such a juvenile comment.
But, it is your opinion, and things will happen as they do, regardless of your I inferior wit.

Hi Mosait

Glad you like the stick. Try those 2 mods I posted. The magnet mod really improves accuracy, especially when making small movements. Found a new approach to the tension mod that looks even better I am going to employ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QcQ_aYui-U

Fortunately, the seller I bought it from had already made the mods available (except the magnet mod). He removed the detents on the throttle, and the spring on the stick was still in good shape (but he provided some 3D fabbed spacers if needed).

The guy I bought it from really kept it in good shape, so the response was still very good. Plus, I didn't see the deadzone issues others have stated, so the response to minor input was very good.

Something I want to take a look at is, I use the 8 position hat on the front of the throttle for up/down/left/right thrust, but as you probably know trying to get the correct response isn't always possible (as others have stated it should have been a 4 position hat). My issue is primarily the down positon, since I hit the downward angles more often than not. I'm going to see if I can force the binds file to accept both downward angle positons as "thrust down"....or something. Thoughts? Or, maybe I can use the Saitek Profiler program to do that?

It's going to take a while to get used to after using the T-Flight X for over a year (I particularly liked the paddles on the throttle as a lateral thrust input). As well, the T-Flight X had more buttons on the throttle. With that said, I do like the X52, and am looking forward to getting used to it. My combat play last night was quite the noobarassment! :D

One last thing I haven't done, and wish I did...just never thought of it. Once I get used to the X52, I'm going to change the left, right, and lower menus to not pop up when I look at them. I'm going to do what others suggested and use VA to force them open/close when I do/don't need them. Lots of excitement. (I would like to get rid of lens flare.. :( ....still happy though! :D )

I use the 8 way throttle hat for thrust as well and leave the four angled positions unbound. I find this works quite well. I use Voice Attack so will likely turn off pop-up screens and call for them when needed. My rift arrives tomorrow and I can't wait .Sorry your a little sensitive to the godrays, hope I am not as I am somewhat used to the effect being I wear glasses. Since I will also be playing a lot of Iracing and DCS where the rays aren't a factor I won't loose much sleep over this.

I wear glasses as well, but the lens flaring was a little jarring at first. After a while I didn't seem to notice it since I was more focused on the game and what I was doing. It's not always apparent.

Got my CV1 yesterday but will wait for all the bugs to be fixed on ED before I try it here. I will be iRacing for now :)

I now have a DK2 if anyone in London wants it.

Most of the bugs in ED are Vive related. Except for some godrays which are only so fixable you should have no trouble running ED if your rig is up to it. Are you running the debug tool?
Mine comes today and ED will be one of the first things I try, then DCS and then IRacing. I am glad the waiting is almost over. It has been a long 6 months.

As mentioned in a thread of mine a couple of days ago, your local Best Buy (if based on the US) carry them. I walked in and out of a store with one w/o being on a wait list. They're not on display - they're "out back". Call ahead for inventory and the local BB should tell you what's available near you. That's how I found mine. No lines. No wait. No premium pricing. No shipping. Same day pick-up.
Dude stop spreading lies, I just called my best buy and they were like what? I have no clue what you are talking about. So no they don't have CV1s available at best buy.
